Episode 33: A Screening Recap: One Night Only

Welcome to The RomCom Roundtable!  Last month we had a really cool opportunity to attend our first screening at the Philly Film Society prior to the theatrical release of One Night Only!  One Night Only, starring Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner, is set in the course of a single night in New York City where unmarried people can get together. Allie (Barbaro) and Owen (Turner) meet as they are looking for love.  One Night Only available on streaming on Prime and Apple TV as of 8 September 2026.  In this episode, we chat about our experience attending the screening, the movie, as well as the topic of open and closed door books.  We recorded this episode in August 2026 just after attending the screening of the film. At the time of this recording, the film was still in theatres, but is now available on streaming.  Thank you to The Broken Spine in Tinker & Trade for sponsoring this episode and the opportunity to attend the screening!  Thank you to our editor, Steve Angello! Episode 32: A Double Header: Fever Pitch(es)

Welcome to The RomCom Roundtable! It’s a double header episode! We’ve got a compare and contrast of Fever Pitch, both the UK and US versions of the film! We’re in the early weeks of the Premier League season, and although our West Ham United is not in the Premiership this year (come on, Irons!), we wanted to tie in this latest episode with the new season and as baseball approaches the playoffs (Go Phillies!).  Fever Pitch (1997) was first a British film, starring Colin Firth and Ruth Gemmell, and is based on the book of the same name by Nick Hornby. The film is built around Arsenal FC’s championship winning season in 1988.   Fever Pitch (2005) stars Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon and is set in Boston at the time of the Red Sox’s (unexpected) World Series winning season.  Both films center around sports fandom and its impact on the protagonists’ relationships.  Both films are available on Prime Video and check out Kanopy / your local library to watch both films.  We recorded this episode in August 2026 prior to our live show. Thank you to The Broken Spine in Tinker & Trade for sponsoring this episode!  Thank you to our editor, Steve Angello!
