    Iditarod Project: Matt Rohn & OJHS Students

    Send a text In this episode, Greylin Durbin interviews OJHS teacher Matt Rohn and a few of his students about the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, one of the most famous and challenging races in the world. This race takes place in the snowy wilderness of Alaska and covers more than 1,000 miles of difficult terrain. Mushers and their teams of sled dogs work together to travel from Anchorage to Nome while facing extreme cold, strong winds, and long days on the trail.     The Science Behind Sewing and Fiber Arts

The conversation covers how students don’t just learn how to sew in this class - they investigate the science of plant and animal fibers, research real-world careers in fiber arts, and experiment with local plants to create natural dyes. From hand stitching and machine sewing to fiber processing and sustainable textile labs, this course blends innovation with tradition.     Blood Cancer United: Jaelynn Deutschman & Brennyn Treen
