20 Essential Wedding Planning Details You Might Forget!

20 Essential Wedding Planning Details You Might Forget!

In today’s episode, Sheridan and Juliette share 20 things you definitely don’t want to forget about when planning your wedding!
We know that planning a wedding can be hard, and unfortunately, it's all too easy to forget about some of the most important elements!
We have compiled a list of things that aren't generally included on your typical wedding planning checklist but that are still extremely important to ensure your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible.
We cover things like when to get your marriage license, how to pick your witnesses, and ensuring your venue will be suitable for your wedding theme and decorations. As well as the small things that will make a big impact, like reserving seats at your ceremony, remembering to eat throughout the day and organising who is in charge of packing everything up at the end of the night (preferably someone who has a big enough car and is sober!).
For the Ultimate Wedding Planning Checklist, tune into our previous episodes here and here for a timeline and checklist of the whole wedding planning process.

An Introverts Guide To Wedding Planning

An Introverts Guide To Wedding Planning

In today’s episode, Sheridan and Juliette delve into personality types and how being an introvert can impact the wedding planning process. We explore the distinctions between introverted and extroverted individuals, how to know which you fall under and how understanding these traits can revolutionise your approach to planning your special day!
We discuss strategies to navigate your wedding day, acknowledging the potential overwhelm of being the centre of attention. From setting boundaries with well-meaning but possibly overbearing family members to prioritising self-care throughout the planning process. We’ll give you tips on how to curate a guest list that fosters your values for your wedding day and not anyone else's!
We have recommendations for every part of the wedding planning process, from how to interact with your vendors, which social events to skip, and tips on finding small moments to re-energise throughout the entirety of your wedding day.
The most important takeaway from today's episode is that finding a balance between celebrating your love and honouring who you are and your values is vital to planning your perfect wedding.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the wedding industry, Chloe blends film and digital photographs to capture the story of your wedding day with all its authenticity and emotion.

    Did Someone Say Cocktail Hour?!

    Did Someone Say Cocktail Hour?!

So… what even is Cocktail Hour?? Let’s talk about it!!
Cocktail hour is what we call the time between your wedding ceremony and your reception. Generally, this is when you and your partner will go and get your portraits done, and your guests will enjoy a drink, a chat, and some appetisers - but there’s a little more to it than that!
    For you and your partner:
Your wedding day is a super intense celebration, and if you’ve spent the whole morning getting ready, the day is just go-go-go with not much time for recovery! So… your cocktail hour is perfect to take a moment to relax and embrace the feeling of being newly married! You’ll likely still have a lot to do with your photographer and videographer, but we recommend organising your timeline to include at least 10-15 minutes of just *YOU* time.
Of course, there’s the option to join your cocktail hour, you just need to think about when you’re going to get your portraits taken and how you can still incorporate some time alone.
This is where the first look comes in! If you don’t mind seeing each other before the ceremony, there is the option to do a first look and take your portraits before the ceremony. This allows you to join cocktail hour, chat with your guests, and enjoy a drink and some food before the more structured reception begins!
    For your guests:
If you are feeling worried about what your guests are going to do during cocktail hour, don’t fret! All you need to do is make sure your guests have something to do, something to eat and drink, and something to watch!
I promise it’s simple! Your guests are likely going to want to catch up with each other, so already there’s something for them to do. If you throw in some lawn games, leave your guest book out, and even have a photo booth set up, you're done! Make sure you have enough food and beverages, no one wants hangry guests at their wedding!
Something to watch is the trickier one during your cocktail hour, but it’s not as important as the last two points, the easiest way to do this is if you have a live band, your guests will naturally gravitate towards them, but if you don’t just make sure you have some music playing throughout!
