The Scarifyers

I am in awe at how amazingly professional this project sounds - the voice acting across the board is brilliant, a level rarely heard in podcasts. The entire production deserves a standing ovation... and the end result gives a similar feel to surreal early 70’s British TV - speaking of which, the end music sounds quite similar to the “DoomWatch” ending credits... chilling and exciting. Although there are moments of hilarious comedy (usually early on in a story), once the plot gets going it tends to stay pretty serious - “The Scarifyers” never turns silly. It’s obvious that the creators take this show seriously, for the love and care is evident in every area, of every episode - and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with it either. The Scarifyers truly is one of the most stunning audio dramas I’ve ever heard; I’m so fortunate to have discovered it, by a completely (and fortuitous) accidental spelling error. My cheers, my gratitude, and my adoration to everyone involved.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, and am always looking for new audio dramas. I ran across this, and am Thrilled. The story lines and the VA’s are top notch. The humor is subtle within the story but laugh out loud funny. Perfect mental escape from the chaotic and depressing current state of the world.

This. Is. The. BEST!

This is a fantastic audio series that I can't recommend highly enough. Think of it as a British X-Files set in the 1930s, featuring a fussy, befuddled professor (Terry Molloy) and strait-laced MI:13 agent (Nicholas Courtney), investigating weird supernatural incidents. It's a warm, funny, always-entertaining series of adventures. The supporting cast and guest cast are likewise excellent. (Brian Blessed steals the show in "The Curse of the Black Comet.") After Courtney's passing, David Warner came on board, and while Courtney's absence is felt, Warner fits in perfectly. Give it a listen. You'll be hooked. And then check out all the other releases at Bafflegab Productions (like the enormously entertaining "Baker's End").
