    During this past summer, my father was in the hospital and at this time I was trying to make peace with the fact that he may not survive and therefore started to look back on our complicated relationship.  My dad is a complicated guy, but he's also my dad.  I always hated the fact that I've struggled with conflicted feelings around him and how much that affects me, and probably has in so many aspects of my life.
