    Nick Gross is the founder of Gross Labs, his family office, incubation, and investment firm founded in 2019. He is also the active CEO and founder of Find Your Grind, a student-led learning and self discovery software in K12. The Gross Labs ecosystem includes the K12 learning technology company Find Your Grind; an investment portfolio of over 50 companies, including X Games, 100 Thieves, Breakaway Music Festival, Beatbox Beverages, and more; a music division with John "Feldy" Feldmann with artists including Mod Sun, The Used, and The Veronicas; and minority stakes in DC Pickleball Club and Liga MX Club Necaxa. Gross also built the Los Angeles recording studio and content facility The Noise Nest. Gross has had an extensive music career as the drummer for Sony Epic and MTV recording artist Open Air Stereo, and more recently, girlfriends, a pop-punk duo with Apple Music & MTV host Travis Mills. Girlfriends has recently toured in 2023 with Avril Lavingne and Machine Gun Kelly. He has parlayed this experience in the music industry into a career as an entrepreneur within both the music and entertainment industries. In 2018, Gross launched Find Your Grind- a software in schools that helps students discover who they are and where they want to go. Find Your Grind started hosting nation-wide speaking tours in high schools and major college campuses w/ partners Amazon Prime Student, TikTok, Twitch and more. In addition to his business ventures, Gross is the Executive Director of the Find Your Grind Foundation- a non profit focused on enriching the lives of the next generation through sports, education and music.     Bryan Talebi is the CEO and Co‐Founder of Ahura AI, an innovative AI leader who has developed a powerful platform that fosters true learning and skills knowledge, to positively impact the lives of companies and their workforces worldwide. He was born in the southeastern desert of Iran in a home with no running water or electricity. His family fled to Turkey where they lived in a refugee camp for several years and eventually made their way to the United States. Gifted beyond his years, he proceeded to teach himself quantum mechanics and quantum physics at the age of 12 and became one of the youngest engineers working for the NASA Goddard Space Center at the age of 16. After college, a trip back to his childhood village in Iran reconnecting with childhood friends and observing that they had become illiterate sheepherders, he wondered, “How many people have been robbed of their potential to impact the world because they had not had access to education? Further, how do we make investments that create massive impact and affect billions of people to rapidly prepare for careers in the labor market of the future? We can start with innovation and machine learning.” His leadership roles in startup endeavors including Southwestern, Zocdoc, Sols, Bizzabo, and Vestorly has equipped him to lead Ahura AI’s pioneering way to advance learning 3 x 5 times faster, recognizing that everyone learns at a different cadence and at their best with different formats of education. Ahura AI’s vision is to embolden human purpose by creating technology to educate and position 10 times more of the world’s population to take on the most critical challenges in the 4th industrial revolution. Bryan has spoken on many stages around the world as a keynote speaker, hosted events alongside change makers at Davos, and won awards for innovation in education.     Episode 36 - Sumit Rai - CEO of Cancer Check Labs

    Sumit Rai is the founder, CEO, and Chairman of Cancer Check Labs, where he has been instrumental in the development of its groundbreaking circulating tumor cell (CTC) capture technology since 2010. This innovation has opened new possibilities in cancer diagnostics and treatment, positioning Cancer Check Labs as a leader in oncology breakthroughs. Motivated by the loss of his younger sister to cancer, Mr. Rai has been dedicated to curing the disease, serving as the President of Cure Sonia, a nonprofit he founded in 2012. Cure Sonia funds cancer research at top institutions like Stanford, MD Anderson, and USC provides financial support to underserved cancer patients, and promotes bone marrow donor registration, having registered over 10,000 donors through more than 300 drives in 60 cities. Additionally, Mr. Rai is the President and founder of Save a Firefighter, a nonprofit that offers free cancer screenings to firefighters, a group that faces a cancer risk three times higher than the general population due to job-related hazards. His dedication to cancer-related causes earned him a nomination to the National Board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in 2022. Mr. Rai previously founded Mobclix, a leading real-time bidding mobile advertising exchange that saw rapid growth to 15 billion monthly mobile ad impressions and $50 million in annual revenue, ultimately being acquired by Velti and Telefonica. With over 20 years of venture capital, private equity, and hedge fund experience, he has led acquisitions and investments in numerous companies across sectors, including LSTAT, a trauma support system acquired from Northrop Grumman, and Magma Design Automation, later acquired by Synopsys. Mr. Rai’s extensive experience as an angel investor includes board positions at startups like Fastbite, acquired by Square; Muzik, a smart wearable technology company; Braidio, an enterprise software platform; and OpenSense, a software firm enhancing branded email communications. He is a frequent mentor, judge, and lecturer for business competitions at Stanford and UC Berkeley. He has spoken at industry events hosted by Ernst & Young, Asian Venture Capital Journal, and TIE. Mr. Rai earned a Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, where he graduated as a Regent Scholar. Hosted on Acast.
