The Courage to Be Seen - Allowing Your Whole Self To Be Received

In this episode, I'm reflecting on what it means to be visible and how my relationship with being seen is beginning to change. For a long time, sharing parts of myself could feel like asking something of other people. Now, I'm starting to see visibility as an opportunity for connection, presence, and meaningful impact. I share about a new opportunity to write the newsletter for my local yarn shop and what it felt like to become more visible within that community through WIP Wednesday. Even though being seen brought up discomfort and old fears, it also gave me the opportunity to receive the support that was already there and recognize how aligned this new role feels. This episode explores the idea that our presence can be meaningful without needing to control how it is received. We do not always have to know exactly how our work will help someone. Sometimes our role is simply to show up, share what feels true, and trust that the right people will find something in it. I'm also finally sharing something I've been creating behind the scenes: a new YouTube channel called From the Shoreline. It will be a lighter, more creative glimpse into my life, where I'll share knitting projects, writing updates, the journey of working on my novel, and more of the everyday creative process. Starting something new feels exciting, playful, uncomfortable, and a little scary all at once. But it also feels deeply aligned with my North Star of creating meaningful ways for us to spend time together. This is an invitation to consider what visibility might mean for you. What if being seen does not have to be about performance or approval? What if your presence, your creativity, and your willingness to share yourself are already enough to create connection? This episode is for you if: You're ready to step into a leadership position and be more visible in your life You're curious about starting a podcast and/or a YouTube channel and want to get a peek behind the scenes You crave meaningful connections and relationships but find it hard to allow yourself to be fully seen You feel like you've been in hiding and are ready to step out into the light You're a creative who wants to share more of your gifts but aren't sure where to begin Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Use this FREE intention setting worksheet to help you find your north star Read this blog post to discover simple ways to bring joy and whimsy back into your life Listen to this visualization when you want to tap into daydream energy and invite more peace and calm into your life Related Episodes:   The Itchy Sweater Season - Change Can Be Uncomfortable But Discomfort Doesn't Last Forever Permission To Be Where You Are - Learning To Embrace All Parts Of The Self With Compassion Living A Creative Life Offline And Online - Why Community And Authentic Connection Are A Core Part Of The Human Experience When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. The Itchy Sweater Season - Change Can Be Uncomfortable, But Discomfort Doesn't Last Forever

In this episode, I'm reflecting on the uncomfortable part of change where staying where you are no longer feels right, but stepping into what is next does not feel natural yet either. It is the strange middle ground of becoming, where everything can feel a little itchy, clunky, and out of alignment. I share how I experienced this when I first began the Shoreline. Even though I knew podcasting was part of my path, recording felt uncomfortable and self-conscious for a long time. I had to choose the unfamiliar discomfort of something new over the familiar discomfort of staying where I was. Over time, what once felt awkward became one of the most joyful parts of my week. Lately, I've found myself back in another itchy sweater season. After feeling lighter and energized, things suddenly became heavy again. Grief has felt more like a fog than an all-consuming sadness, and I've been navigating the frustration of having ideas and desires without always having the energy to bring them to life. This episode explores how discomfort can actually bring clarity. When everything feels a little off, the things that truly belong to us become easier to recognize. Like finally changing out of an itchy sweater and into your favorite pajamas, alignment can feel especially obvious after a season of discomfort. I also share my desire to return to journaling as a daily ritual and reconnect with a part of myself that feels deeply familiar. Through morning pages and an evening practice of reflecting on what went well, what is still taking up mental space, and what I want to call into my life, I'm creating small anchors as I continue moving through this next phase of becoming. This is an invitation to notice what feels like an itchy sweater in your own life. What has become uncomfortable to keep carrying? And what brings that unmistakable feeling of relief when you move toward it? This episode is for you if: You're on the verge of a new chapter and navigating the discomfort that comes from growth, evolution, and expansion You're curious about starting a podcast and want to know more about what happens behind the scenes You're navigating an uncomfortable seasons of life where nothing feels aligned and you aren't sure how to move forward You're ready to go after what you want and create your dream life You're feeling stuck and aren't sure how to move forward Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Use this FREE intention setting worksheet to help you find your north star Read this blog post to discover simple ways to bring joy and whimsy back into your life Listen to this visualization when you want to tap into daydream energy and invite more peace and calm into your life Related Episodes:   Rooting Into What's Next- Embracing A New Identity And New Life After Loss And Transition When Flow Falters - How To Navigate Old Patterns When They Reappear Listening For What Wants To Emerge - Letting Go Of Old Timelines And Honoring Where You're At Right Now When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. When Presence Becomes the North Star - Looking To Connection When The Journey Feels Lonely

In this episode, I'm reflecting on the idea of a North Star and how the value that has guided me for most of my life is beginning to change. For as long as I can remember, being helpful has been deeply important to me. I have wanted to support others, make things easier, and be someone people could turn to. Lately, I've started to notice that helping does not always need to mean fixing, removing pain, or offering solutions. Sometimes what matters most is simply being present, listening, and creating meaningful ways to spend time together. I share how this shift is changing the way I think about my work. One-on-one coaching will continue to be part of what I do, but I am also feeling called to create connection through this podcast, writing, future courses, and other experiences that allow us to meet across time and space. This episode also explores the vulnerability of allowing creative work to be witnessed. My role is not to decide exactly how something should be received or prove why it is valuable. My role is to create, share, and trust that the work will find the people it is meant for. Grief has taught me that we do not always need advice or answers when we are moving through something difficult. Sometimes we only need someone willing to sit beside us. Your journey is uniquely yours, but you do not have to navigate it without companionship. As the energy begins to feel lighter, I'm also looking ahead toward fall, new routines, fresh ideas, and a renewed sense of possibility. For the first time in a long while, thinking about the future feels hopeful, creative, and full of room to explore. This episode is for you if: You're feeling alone on your journey and crave a companion or someone to witness what you're going through You're on a grief journey and want to explore how that's shaping you You're navigating a big life transition and are exploring who you're becoming and what you'd like to create You're a creative who's ready to step into the spotlight and share your work You're exploring new ways of being and ready to embrace new ideas and energy shifts Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Use this FREE intention setting worksheet to help you find your north star Read this blog post to learn more about the power of Human Design Listen to this visualization when you want to tap into daydream energy and invite more peace and calm into your life Related Episodes:  Letting The Magic In - Embracing Small Joys And Allowing Yourself To Just Be Letting The Water Carry You - Shifting From Exploring Possibilities To Creating A New Reality Stepping Into Your Intuitive Gifts Embracing LIfe As An Artist And Creative Soul When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. Letting the Magic In - Embracing Small Joys And Allowing Yourself To Just Be

In this episode, I'm reflecting on what busy means to me now and how that definition has changed over time. There was a season when I enjoyed moving quickly from one thing to the next, but lately I've been craving more transition time, more quiet, and more space to simply be. I share how I've been observing the rhythm of my days and noticing what feels supportive versus overwhelming. As a creative person, I need room to daydream, explore ideas, and let inspiration arrive without pressure. Creating that space has already begun to shift something in me, and new possibilities are starting to form. This episode also explores what it means to embrace summer in a way that feels true. Sometimes joy arrives through the smallest moments, like stopping for an ice cream cone on a warm day, watching the sunset, or taking an unexpected two-hour walk with Cauchy through the neighborhood. I reflect on the excitement of upcoming plans, from a beach trip with my sister to the Flock fiber festival, and how meaningful it feels to see a dream of finding community through knitting come to life. I also share the tenderness that comes with approaching another football season without my dad and the way grief and joy continue to exist side by side. This is an invitation to create enough space for life to surprise you. To release the pressure to fill every moment, stay present with what is here, and allow small moments of beauty, connection, and delight to find their way in. This episode is for you if: You're in a season of change and are ready to redefine your life and what being busy means for you You're on a grief journey and navigating the complexity of all the emotions present with grief You're ready to let go of the hustle and create more space in your life to just be You're shifting into new possibilities and are looking for inspiration and companionship Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Use this FREE intention setting worksheet to help you find your north star Read this blog post to learn how to shift the energy of your day in one simple step Listen to this visualization when you want to tap into daydream energy and invite more peace and calm into your life Related Episodes:  The Season of Refinement - Letting Go Of Past Identities To Embrace What's Ahead A Life With Room To Breathe - Letting Go Of Being "Busy" And Embracing A Slower Pace Returning Home To Yourself - An Invitation To Step Into Self-Trust And Return To What Feels Most True When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. The Dream Life That Is Already Here - Letting Go Of How Things Should Be To Create Room For What Is Most Fulfilling

In this episode, I'm reflecting on the difference between a dream life and a fantasy life. After listening to a podcast episode about designing your dream life, I found myself asking what my own dream life really looks like and whether I have been chasing something far away or overlooking what is already here. As I journaled through that question, I realized that so many pieces of my dream life already exist. That realization shifted something in me. Instead of focusing only on what is missing, I began to see how much fulfillment, beauty, and alignment are already present in the life I'm living now. I also share how grief, funkiness, and feeling stuck in routine can make it easy to move through the days on autopilot. When creativity starts to feel like something I have to do instead of something I get to do, the magic begins to fade. This episode explores the importance of returning to joy, spaciousness, and the kind of daily rhythm that lets life feel alive again. I reflect on my desire for more space in my days and how difficult that can feel in a culture that glorifies busyness, productivity, and constant movement. What I'm craving right now is time freedom, quiet, creativity, and room for small, unexpected moments of magic. This episode is also about honoring where I am in this season. I may not have big summer travel plans or a packed calendar, but I am living in a home I love, surrounded by my animals, the water, the mountains, and the life I worked so hard to create. There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay close to what feels nourishing and true. This is an invitation to look honestly at your own dream life. What parts of it are already here? What are you still moving toward? And what might shift if you allowed your days to feel less like a checklist and more like a life you actually get to live? This episode is for you if: You're feeling stuck and want to take steps toward creating the life of your dreams You're in a time of deep transformation and are looking for inspiration on how to move forward You're ready to build a life you truly love You're curious about how Human Design works and how it can support you You're ready to let go of guilt and the "shoulds" in your life in pursuit of what brings the most joy and fulfillment Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Use this FREE intention setting worksheet to help you find your north star Read this blog post to learn how to shift the energy of your day in one simple step Listen to this podcast episode from A Beautiful Mess for more reflections on how to design your dream life Related Episodes:  Choosing Gratitude Over Guilt - Letting Go Of Effort To Make Space For Ease Letting It Be For You: Learning To Live In The Unknown With Self-Compassion Inviting Magic Into The Everyday - How To Bring More Presence And Joy Into Your Day When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. Letting the New Version Lead - Sitting With The Discomfort Of Moving Forward And Doing Things Differently

In this episode, I'm sharing from the messy middle of the in-between. After trying to record this episode several times, I realized that maybe it was never meant to feel perfectly polished. The beauty of this space is that it is unfinished, experimental, and full of possibility. I reflect on how old patterns can resurface when we are becoming someone new. As I think about my writing, my novel, and the next evolution of the Shoreline, I've noticed myself wanting to approach this season the same way I built my jewelry company. That version of me was tenacious, hungry, and willing to figure things out through effort and pressure. But I am not that same person anymore. This episode explores what it means to let the new version of yourself build in a new way. Writing asks something different of me than jewelry did. It asks for space, intuition, flow, and a willingness to disconnect from outside noise so the story can come through naturally. I also share how uncomfortable it can feel to let something be easy, joyful, or intuitive when you are used to efforting your way forward. Sometimes the discomfort is not a sign that you are doing something wrong. Sometimes it is the feeling of growth, transformation, and a new identity beginning to take shape. As I move through Mercury retrograde, Cancer season, and the reflection that comes before my birthday, I'm taking time to honor all the past versions of myself while making space for the one who is ready to lead now. I'm still in the in-between, still on my grief journey, still figuring it out, and also feeling a stronger call to support others through their own seasons of becoming. This is an invitation to notice where you may be trying to build something new with an old version of yourself. What would shift if you let a different part of you take the lead? What might become possible if you allowed the path forward to feel more natural, spacious, and true? This episode is for you if: You're in the messy in-between space and ready to let go of your perfectionism You're rebuilding your life after a big transition and are ready to let go of the past You're grieving and trying to navigate the complex feelings that come with grief You're in a season of learning to receive support and are feeling the discomfort of being in the new You're a writer or creative who keeps trying to use their analytical mind to create Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Download this FREE audio experience to invite more calm and peace into your life and reconnect with your inner wisdom Learn about my favorite Human Design experts to dive deeper into your chart Related Episodes:  The Season of Refinement - Letting Go Of Past Identities To Embrace What's Ahead Stepping Into Your Intuitive Gifts Embracing LIfe As An Artist And Creative Soul Returning Home To Yourself - An Invitation To Step Into Self-Trust And Return To What Feels Most True When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. Permission to Be Where You Are - Learning To Embrace All Parts Of The Self With Compassion

In this episode, I'm sharing from a place of not having everything neatly figured out. As I sat down to record, I realized I didn't have a clear topic or message ready. Instead, what felt most honest was to speak from the blankness, the inwardness, and the depth of grief that has been present for me this week. I reflect on the pressure I've felt to turn grief into a beautiful transformation story. There is a part of me that wants to make meaning from loss, to become a bright guiding light, and to wrap the experience in hope. But grief does not always work that way. Sometimes it does not need a silver lining. Sometimes it simply needs to be what it is. I also share a vivid dream I had about my dad, where I was driving with him and kept passing his car because I wanted more time together. Waking from that dream brought both joy and sadness, which is one of the hardest parts of grief to explain. It can feel beautiful to visit the memories, and devastating to return to the reality that new memories will not be created in the same way. This episode explores the non-linear nature of healing. Grief can spiral back to places you thought you had already moved through, whether that looks like crying in a restaurant, feeling overwhelmed by memories, or comparing your grief to someone else's. None of it means you are doing it wrong. This is an invitation to release the timelines, rules, and judgments around grief. However your grief is expressing itself, it is allowed. You do not have to rush yourself into meaning, clarity, or acceptance before you are ready. You can simply be here, exactly as you are. This episode is for you if: You're feeling lost in your grief and aren't sure what to make of it You're going through a significant transformation and trying to make sense of it all You're exploring parts of yourself and learning to be more self-compassionate You feel pressure to be at a certain milestone and looking for permission to just be You're starting over and feeling self-conscious about where you're at Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to find aligned support as you navigate a significant life transition Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Download this FREE audio experience to invite more calm and peace into your life and reconnect with your inner wisdom Learn how to shift the energy of your day using a morning ritual Read this essay about losing my dad and being catapulted into the unknown Related Episodes:  Connection In The Loudest Places - Exploring The Complexity Of Our Emotional Landscape While Grieving Letting It Be For You: Learning To Live In The Unknown With Self-Compassion Clarity Over Certainty - Integrating Grief And Moving Forward With Intention Without Needing To See The Entire Path When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life. Letting the Water Carry You - Shifting From Exploring Possibilities To Creating A New Reality

In this episode, I'm reflecting on how to find grounding and balance while moving through change. After last week's conversation about impermanence, I've been sitting with the reminder that the present moment is truly where life happens. The past has already passed, the future is still unknown, and all we can really return to is what is here right now. I share more about what it means to be in an in-between space where anything feels possible, while also recognizing that not every possibility is meant to come with us. Sometimes making space for what is next means lovingly releasing old dreams, identities, and versions of ourselves that no longer feel aligned. This episode explores the grief that can come with letting go of dreams that may never be fully realized. Whether it is an old career path, a past version of yourself, a season of travel, or memories you wish you could still create with someone you love, release can bring sadness and clarity at the same time. I also reflect on how my curiosity and adventurous spirit have shifted. While I may not be in a season of outward travel, that energy is still alive in me through writing, storytelling, and the worlds I want to bring to life. Some dreams fall away so the ones that matter most can receive more of our devotion. This is an invitation to come back to the present moment and let it be enough. To notice the birds, the sky, the smell of summer, the feeling of being here. To hold your dreams like a north star while still allowing yourself to be carried by the flow of life. This episode is for you if: You're going through a major life change and shifting your identity You're on a grief journey and navigating complex emotions You're ready to step into a new reality and create an aligned future for yourself You're trying to make sense of where you are right now and feeling lost on your path You're a writer or creative who wants to pursue their dream career Resources and Links:  Explore The Shoreline Private Sessions to clarify where you're heading next  Sign up to receive notes from the Shoreline Download this FREE audio experience to invite more calm and peace into your life and reconnect with your inner wisdom Read my 5 favorite books to inspire a creative life Read this essay about embracing a new identity to shift your perspective Related Episodes:  Who Are You Without The Chaos? -  Releasing Old Patterns And Stepping Into A New Reality  Finding Your Creative Shoreline - How I Use Authentic Expression To Drive My Creativity From Stillness Into Motion - Navigating Change With Balance When Life Pulls You Toward A New Shore - Beginning Again And Exploring The In-Between Space After An Unexpected Life Transition –– ✦ Kim Kogane is a writer and intuitive guide helping you navigate the tender in-between seasons of life.
