A weekly podcast covering the vast scope of the Boston Bruins hockey world. From prospects to the big show, the Short Shift Podcast aims to bring you a balance of educated analysis & opinions befitting of the most rabid, and sometimes overly critical fanbase in the NHL. The program often features an exploration into the fandoms of upcoming opponents for the full spectrum of how the Bruins are viewed around the league. The SS is where veracity and fanaticism smash. Cynically acclaimed. Incredibly online. Chirp us on twitter @shortshiftpod. Proud part of the BNG Podcast Network.

Ep.54 - We Goin' Streaking
The Boston Bruins continue to roll and the Short Shift boys are feeling even better than last week. Statements continue to be made as they smack Montreal down easily, hold firm against a testy Philadelphia squad, and gut one out in OT against one of the best teams in the Western Conference in the Nashville Predators. Tuukka Rask is back and looking crisp, Marchand and Pastrnak get back-to-back hat tricks, Vaakanainen continues to improve and impress.. just so much to discuss regarding the win streak, prospects, predictions and more. Lot of ground covered in this power hour of Bruins hockey talk. Do us a favor: Rate, Review and Subscribe! BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST -- GET IN!
Ep.53 - One MILLION Dollars
Aight folks! The Short Shift Podcast is back and we're in a good mood. Lots to be happy about since the new year. Bruins have won 5 of 6, they're getting scoring from all lines, David Pastrnak is heating up along side Taylor Hall just as we'd hoped, Tuukka Rask signs for the bare minimum, Steen, Blidh and Vaakanainen all stepping up. It's insane how much the mood around this team has changed in just a few short weeks. The boys tackle all those topics plus PREDICTIONS and a SHORT SIXTY. GET IN.
Ep.52 - Secondary Scoring? Niceee
The Bruins are back playing real hockey games, and WINNING thanks in part to a secondary scoring explosion! The boys discuss the latest lines and the fact that the typically tinker-trigger happy Bruce Cassidy is letting them ride a bit. Also up for discussion: a temperature check coming off wins over teams they "should" beat.. how good should fans feel? Plus Oskar Steen has emerged as a guy you cannot take out of this line-up, but who sits when at full health? What's wrong with the power play? Is it almost Tuukka time? Should we feel good about Frederic's roller coaster weekend? And of course: predictions for the week ahead! This one's loaded -- Andrew's laptop be damned! GET IN!
Ep.51 - New Year, Renewed Season
Another week goes by without Bruins hockey but there's still plenty of topics to run through. The boys talk World Juniors including our lack of representation and what that means organizationally. Also, where do we all stand as far as Covids impact on the season and what is the best way to move on in this climate. The Bruins return to play this weekend (predictions incoming), and are about to go through a BRUTAL stretch of games for the foreseeable future. Plus: Rask and resolutions! The final episode of the calendar year! GET IN!
Ep.50 - Hockey Holidays, Everybody
Ho Ho Holy crap we miss hockey, folks. Episode FIFTY coming in hot for the holidays. The Boston Bruins (and the league for that matter) may be shut down but there's is still PLENTY to talk about. Zach Senyshyn requests a trade: Is there a fundamental disconnect within the organization? Bruce Cassidy is presumably on the hot seat -- is his job actually in jeopardy? The boys also discuss Jakub Zboril being out for the year after knee surgery. How much does his absence cost the Bruins for this season? What did we really get out of the Cassidy, Sweeney & Neely press conferences? Plus: Christmas wishes on this special holiday edition of the Short Shift Podcast! GET IN!
Ep.49 - Bruins Decimated by COVID Outbreak
The Bruins are in the thick of a Covid outbreak that is turning the roster inside out, and on a larger scale, the entire league is a dumpster fire with no clear direction or plan of action. The boys smash the record button as they debate the state of the Bruins in the midst of yet another pandemic related controversy. Should the Bruins be playing right now? Are they going to Canada? Are the Olympics off the table? Is the league showing their ass right now with how they're handling all of this? We even welcome a Carolina Hurricanes fan to the discussion as they battle a similar situation -- can Thomas play nice with a Canes fan? Also: what is wrong with the Boston media with all of this Cassidy/Bergeron nonsense? All this and more packed into a bonus half-hour to cap off a big week for Bruins content. GET IN.
