    This episode is a little different because we’re welcoming our very first guest, Dr. Caryn! Winters. But she’s not just a guest—she’s also interviewing us (Kirstin & Carli). Here’s the interesting story of how we met Caryn: She reached out to us on social media with an honest question—Were we truly inclusive of other ethnicities in Soul Secrets? While our heart was absolutely yes, it made us realize that we may not have been showing enough diversity yet. Since Caryn is a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) specialist with a PhD in communications, we saw this as a perfect opportunity to connect with her and learn. During our conversation, she also shared that our audience might not fully know who we are—the deeper parts of our stories and why we’re here. That was such good feedback that we invited her onto the show to help pull those things out of us while also guiding us in creating a more inclusive space. Because this was our first guest episode, we had to shift from our tiny recording room to a new setup (big growth moment for us!)—but in the shuffle, our mics weren’t hooked up quite right. The sound isn’t perfect, but the richness of the conversation far outweighs that. This episode is open, honest, and full of heart.
