The Space Between Podcast

Just listened to your interview with Jon. I could relate so much to his story. I also have 3 kids and my wife who really isn’t a fan anymore, gets very annoyed with my DMB fandom, ha! Looking forward to the show in Providence this fall. I remember my first show at Foxboro Stadium, MA in 1999 and have seen them many times since.

Creating, hosting, and producing The Space Between Podcast has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Dave Matthews Band has spent 35 years bringing people together, and this moment in music history deserves to be documented not just through setlists and recordings, but through the people who lived it. Each episode reflects a life changed by DMB—stories of friendship, love, loss, healing, road trips, unforgettable shows, second chances, and communities that may not have existed otherwise. These stories matter. I want future listeners to understand what it felt like to be part of this community—why people traveled thousands of miles, formed lifelong bonds, and built parts of their lives around this music. The fans are part of the history of Dave Matthews Band, too. That’s why their stories deserve to be told and preserved. I’m proud that The Space Between Podcast can help do that. ❤️

Being a long time DMB fan it felt good to find a podcast that not only shared my love for the band, but showed me I wasn’t alone. Every week Renae tells a story of a fan who has been touched by the music of the Dave Matthews Band. Some stories are hilarious, some will wrench your heart out, but all will remind you what a special community surrounds the Dave Matthews Band.

You don’t have to be a fan of DMB to enjoy this podcast (it helps, but not necessary). It’s about the fans. It’s about how the music resonates and makes you feel. It’s about how the fans connect to a certain song, live show, experience, etc. Renae does an amazing job of sharing the stories of the fans 💜
