Options Plays & International Markets With Matt Peterson – The Special Situations Report Episode #70

We’re proud to release this week’s special episode, an interview with our wonderful guest, Matthew Peterson. Matthew Peterson is the Managing Partner of Peterson Capital Management, first established in 2011. Matt has been working as a financial professional for two decades. His experience includes working with global financial services firms Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, American Express, and Ameriprise Financial. Prior to forming Peterson Capital Management, LLC and launching Peterson Investment Fund I, LP, Matt split time between Wall Street and London as Capital Markets Manager at Diamond Management and Technology Consultants. Our conversation with Matt centered around a number of fascinating topics, including options-related strategies, portfolio sizing, and the benefits of running extremely concentrated. We also dived into what makes a value investor, and the struggle between the ideal holding period of “forever” and determining when to sell. We also spoke extensively about international markets such as China and Turkey, and how these markets enable investing in businesses and strategies not typically available to investors in the U.S. We learned so much from this discussion, and we hope our listeners will too.
