Surprisingly Fresh, Entertaining and Compelling
Easily one of the most original sci-fi concepts in this generation, The saga of Watt O’Hugh shows readers a startling new landscapes they can encounter nowhere else. The characters are textured and vivid and their adventures both lament and celebrate the universe of mixed emotions that populates every human skull. Watt’s strangely vibrant meloncholy is unlike anything else in recent literature. Abetting the realization of light and shade in the story is Drachman’s deft interweaving of historical characters and scenarios, reimagined to create an eerie parallel cosmos on every page. Yet within this shadowy realm, Watt lives a moving love story — while still delivering the sort of high-risk adventure we thought had died with the Silent Film era. Hear it, read it, weep and then rejoice for such a tantalizing tale of unforgettable characters.
