And, it is absolutely true what she says, healing from traumas (no matter how big or small they seem) takes time. Nothing happens overnight and you can’t be “fixed” in one day. Healing takes time. When we talk about living in our emotions and how that can affect your health, it is crazy to see how holding onto and living in the space of anger, sadness (i.e. pity parties, not true grief and diagnosed depression), and other negative emotions can metastasize into physical ailments, too. Life is already hard, and there is enough negativity in the world.     The Pep Talk I Didn't Know I Needed

    How to rebuild self-trust and self-worth FOR REAL this time

    The s****y thing about being hurt by loved ones, is that even when you try to heal, you'll never be the person you were before the hurt. Healing and growth are not about completely changing who you are. It is about finding out who you are now, and growing through the pain and heartache. You are responsible for your own actions, how you decide to heal. You are NOT responsible for someone else's action that led to your hurt. Rebuilding you self-worth after infidelity, narcissistic relationships or other trauma doesn't happen overnight. You are in charge of how you move on; how you heal. You create your own happiness.     Becoming the woman who follows through (even when its hard)

    IT's TiiiiIIIIIiiimmmmee! (as sang by Mariah Carey). Except, it's time to own your b******t. Its time to stop blaming everyone else for our problems and acknowledge our part in our own fall. We are keeping ourselves down. Not on purpose. But because its comfortable and familiar. Not anymore. We are not waiting one more day. We are not waiting for "the right time", or more motivation. Lasting change only happens when you stop forcing motivation and start building your identity. Who do you want to be next week, month and year. How does that version of YOU: Talk to herself? Treat herself? Praise herself? Handle setbacks? Take care of herself? Protect her peace? Enter in-> Your STRONGHER Evolution. Stronger than yesterday. Stronger in mind, body and spirit.     How People Pleasing is Fueling Your Overwhelm

    By not wanting someone to go unseen, unheard, and seemingly helpless we take on more for them so they can be happy. But constantly taking on other's responsibilities and not asking for help in return is stressing you out. You're not overwhelmed because you have too much to do, you're overwhelmed because you keep saying yes to things your nervous system can't handle. Taking on more and more isn't doing anything but causing you doom scrolling behavior to look more inviting because what do you mean I've already worked 8 hours and I'm not even halfway through my own project much less two of oy co-workers?! Being able to say NO is not a luxury. Being able to politely say no AND KEEP THE BOUNDARY is 100% necessary in keeping your physical, mental, and emotional sanity. No is not a bad word. It absolutely helps us stay healthy. When we find the people who support us, they don't take the word "no" offensively. They appreciate your honesty and willingness to help them when you are absolutely capable of doing so.     You don't hate yourself, You just don't trust yourself

    You always tell yourself you are going to be better, more consistent, more "on top of it", You're simply going to be better than you were yesterday or last week. Then the time comes for you to do it... And you don't. Something comes up that takes your focus away or maybe even, you just feel totally overwhelmed with what you've set up for yourself. So you don't follow through. That failure to follow through causes you to not trust yourself in just about every other area of your life. And when you don't trust yourself, you don't believe in yourself. And if you don't believe in yourself, it's hard to feel confident in yourself and all the skills you've gained, worked hard for and honed to perfection. In order to trust yourself again, you have to show up and be reliable for you and your goals and dreams just like you show up for the loved ones in your life. Regardless of if anyone else "gets it", agrees with it, or champions it for you. You have to stand up for you and make you the priority to regain your own trust and self-worth.     5 Steps to Break the Overwhelm> Guilt >Shutdown Cycle

    Oh, My, Gosh- Im so overwhelmed, I know I should be doing XYZ, but, I'm stuck on the couch doom scrolling. Sound familiar? The more we mentally and verbally punish ourselves for our quick fixes not working, not getting ourselves moving, not getting our list done, the more we shutdown, then the more we feel guilt and shame because WE KNOW BETTER. Instead, let's break this cycle in 5 easy steps. 1 Catch it Early- notice the beginning stages and feelings of overwhelm 2 Shrink the focus - bring your list of 10 things that need to get done and only focus on one for a manageable block of time 3 Replace the guilt with data - what was the final thing that made me feel overwhelmed, aka - the straw that broke the camels back 4 Built softer consistency - complete small repeatable actions that build consistency rather than one day of dramatic resets 5 STOP trying to earn rest - Allow yourself time to relax, celebrate, ground, and be happy. Take the small rests now instead of a complete burnout rest that gets us back to the same "stuck" place.
