    The Great Disciples

    Where are you on the path to spiritual maturity? In week 3 of our series on The Summit's mission statement, we walk through the journey every believer is called to make: from spiritually unborn, to infant, to child, to young adult, to adult. For too long, churches have outsourced spiritual growth to hired staff. But Ephesians 4 is clear: pastors and leaders exist to equip the saints for ministry, not to do it for them. This message covers the milk-and-meat metaphor from Hebrews 5, the cost of crossing from spiritual childhood into adulthood, and what it looks like to move from just receiving grace to giving it away. Be disciples. Make disciple-makers. That's the plan.

    The Great Mission

    Jesus' last words before ascending weren't a suggestion — they were a promise and a command.     The Great Commission

    What would you do with unlimited power? Rome's answer was a gospel of fear, silence, and control. Jesus' answer was a towel and a basin. Opening our new series on The Summit's mission statement, Aaron walks through Matthew 28's Great Commission and John 13's foot-washing, showing how the true Gospel turns the world's pyramid upside down — and why every disciple, not just "professional Christians," is called into the mission of making disciples.

    Humility is the Path up, Not Down

    It sounds backwards. Humble yourself, and God will lift you up. But that's exactly the promise Simon Peter leaves with these exiles as he closes his letter. This week we look at what it means to truly humble ourselves, not just before each other, but before Almighty God. We talk honestly about anxiety, weakness, and what it looks like to cast our cares on a God who actually cares for us. We also take a hard look at spiritual warfare and what it means to stay sober-minded and watchful in a battle we cannot see. Peter ends with a promise worth holding onto. Suffering doesn't last forever. The God of all grace will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish His people. That's not someday theology. That's for right now. Humility isn't the low road. It's the way up.

    Under-Shepherding the Sheep

    What does real leadership look like in God's family? Peter turns to the elders with a call to shepherd well: lead, feed, care, and protect, not out of compulsion but willingly, not for gain but eagerly, not domineering but leading by example. This isn't just a word for elders. It's for every parent, leader, and disciple-maker among us. True strength isn't found in control. It's found in meekness, power under the Holy Spirit's control, following the pattern Jesus set when He humbled Himself for us. Come hear what it means to lead by going first in humility.

    We Are Overcomers!

    Jesus overcame death. And because He's the ultimate overcomer, we are overcomers in Him. In this message from 1 Peter 4:12-19, we look honestly at suffering, why fiery trials shouldn't surprise us, why they're actually something to rejoice in, and why judgment begins in the household of God before it reaches anyone else. These light and momentary afflictions pale in comparison to the eternal weight of glory that's coming. The question underneath it all: do you trust your Creator enough to entrust your soul to Him while doing good?

    Living in The Middle

    As exiles and strangers in this world, how should we live in the space between promise and fulfillment? In this message from 1 Peter 4:7-11, we look at Peter's own story of denial and restoration, our temptation to earn or predict God's plan instead of trusting him with it, and what it looks like to actually live as exiles now: self-controlled prayer, earnest love, and a hospitality that reflects God's own abundant welcome to us.

    Life Without Jesus is a Waste of Time

    Solomon had it all and called life without God a waste. In this message from 1 Peter 4:1-6, we look at four things life without Jesus leaves us: enslaved to sin, captive to human passions, applauded by the world for our idolatries, and unprepared for judgment. But Jesus flips every one of them. Our suffering in this broken world isn't pointless. It's how God frees us from sin's grip and readies us for what's unseen and eternal.
