    Episode 16: Amy Powers

Amy Powers -- the original lyricist attached to Sunset Boulevard -- was instrumental in shaping Sunset's score. And with co-lyricist Don Black, she put the stamp on the show's iconic ballads. However, after working on the project for over a year with ALW, she opened up the New York Times to discover she was fired. What did she learn from that experience and how did it inform her decades-long career as a successful artist and song writer? Tune in!

Good fun

I’ve never seen this show. I think I saw Phantom. Isn’t that the one where the chandelier gets top billing? I don’t really know much about this Composer of the production company.

It is a delight to listen to someone talk about something they love. Can’t wait till there’s a production of this show somewhere near me. I don’t know why but now that I’m done listening to the show I want to learn a lot more about Sondheim.

Applause for THE SUNSET PROJECT!

This is one of the most compelling true stories of musical theatre, and Bob tells it with dignity, creativity, and most important . . . dish! Bravo, Bob! You are an inspiration!
