Husband and wife owners Dexter and Marilyn Meadows were looking for a new adventure after retirement and Dexters love of the land led them to Umpqua Valley. From Southern California by way of Tuskegee, Alabama, the couple has been married for over 50 years (52 to be exact!) and through this new adventure with Meadows Estates Vineyard and Winery have been able to produce wines mostly known for their rich and earthy tastes such as a Syrah (which received 92 pts) & Pinot Noir, Grenache and Merlot.Through planned events, workshops, a tasting room, onsite lodging, wedding venue, vineyard and grounds tours, Meadows Estates isnt just a place for wine, but also a community destination.

Dexter Meadows
Dexter holds a bachelors degree in architecture from Tuskegee University and a Masters degree in landscape architecture from the University of Michigan.  He is a licensed contractor and landscape architecture in the state of California and enjoys wood working as a hobby.

A native Californian, Terah refined her unique style and found her love of wine by way of food and from her travels across the globe. She started her professional career in the hospitality industry studying at the International Culinary Institute in California. Bridget is the co-author of Market Fresh Mixology and Life, Love Happiness and Cocktails. She has been a contributor to 10 cocktail and beverage industry books written by various celebrated authors including Tony Abou-Ganim, Kim Haasarud, NY Times writer Robert Simonson and many more. Bridget has worked with top media talent including but limited to Oprah Winfrey, Guy Fieri and Kathy Lee Gifford. She has won numerous awards and honorable mentions for her work in the beverage world. This includes 1st place at the Tale of the Cocktail Bar Chef Competition, Chicago Tribune
Good Eats Award and the coveted No Kid Hungry s Share Our Strength Sustaining a Community award. She has repeatedly been nominated for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirit Awards top 10 beverage mentor in the world as recently as 2023. She has had the pleasure of hosting charity beverage events for a variety of companies, including the Bellagio, Locks of Love, Sky Blue, Cocktail for a Cure, Make a Wish Foundation, Hadassah, Taste of the Nation, Habitat for Humanity and New Leaders for New Schools. Bridget is the Founder of the National Charity Foundation of the United States Bartenders' Guild, the world's largest contributor to the cocktail culture. Currently she holds the position as SGWS Sr. Director, External Communications. Bridget is the Founder of the Academy of Spirits and Fine Service IL, KY & MN a program for
bartenders that covers the history of all spirits and pre-prohibition cocktails, and the Advanced Mixology Culinary Academy. She has been repeatably featured in the White House Historical Happy Hour series. She was the first featured female Mixologist on the Food Networks Iron Chef America Battle Mango. Andrew and Jasmine are co-owners and co-founders of Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company. We are a fast-growing Husband and Wife operation and Prince Georges Countys First Black-Owned Brewery. Craft beer ownership by African Americans only accounts for less than 1% across the country, only about 120 breweries. For other African Americans to understand what it means to be Black in craft beer, we must also take that time to educate and discuss its origins and to break the stigma of the negativity and poor quality of what is marketed towards us. Jasmine is also fortunate to be 1 of 12 African American women nationwide to own a brewery. We want to do our part in one of the most affluent and predominantly African American counties to help move the needle for a more diverse representation in the craft beer sector across the country and the world.
