Table Rock goes mystical with Kitchen Tarot
The Table Rock duo, Alex and Julie, share a Tony G’s pizza from Crave. Tony G originated in San Francisco. Named after the owner, Tony G has won all sorts of awards for his pizza dough. Alex has had the privilege of seeing Tony toss a pizza in Boise. While munching on great crust, Julie gives Alex a set of Kitchen Tarot cards. There are 22 cards created by Susan Shie and Dennis Fairchild. The cards are intended to provide soul nourishing readings to go with great food. Alex does tarot readings for friends and at parties. During this podcast, he does a reading of the future of the Table Rock podcast by drawing three cards “past,” “present,” and “future”. Listen in as the Table Rock Duo goes mystical by consulting the tarot cards about the future. #tarot, #kitchentarot, #food #TonyG

In this episode, Alex and Julie, the Table Rock duo, are joined by Katie Hestead, a beverage professional. The gorgeous salmon-colored drinks are featured on Boifood. While chatting up food and beverages, the group talks about the complex role of bartending and etiquette in bars. Join us to learn where to go and how to behave to have a great night out on the town in West Boise.
Hudson’s Baking Company
The Table Rock duo, interview Aaron and Anna from Hudson’s Baking Company committed to accessible food. The Hudsons first became interested in food when they lived in Hawaii with the military. In Hawaii, they were able to buy fresh, locally grown food year around. Later, in college at Evergreen State, they both majored in food policy. Today, they are putting their commitment to activism and food to work as they build their baking company. Aaron is a food activist first and being a baker allows him to be a food advocate. The Hudsons have a new store front in Kuna but they will also deliver product to you for free. Making fresh food accessible is an important value. If listeners are interested in transforming the food chain, Anna recommends that a place to start is joining a CSA (community supported agriculture). The CSA model establishes a direct, human connection between the people growing the food and the people buying it.

This has quickly become my favorite local podcast. I’ve learned about so many new restaurants and have loved learning about the state of food in Idaho. I look forward to each new episode.
Hungry for more
Food is one of the only universal things that brings people together. I love that Alex not only talks about the food that is intwined within the treasure valley but also the people behind it. It’s an absolute joy to hear!
Soothing voices that leave me starving. I’m so excited to taste what the 208 has to offer.
