What is The Taco Debacle? Well, back in 2016, my wife and I went out with a buddy of mine and a coworker of hers…we were drinking, woo woo woo, we leave the bar, and as we're walking out, my wife and I were walking ahead of them and we hear this commotion behind us, so we turn around, my buddy and my wife's coworker were face to face ready to fight...my buddy had gotten a concussion at work like two days before, was on medication, and definitely should not have been drinking in the first place... so, we were like, "what the f**k are you guys doing?" This girl is from out of town, right, and my buddy was like "this chic said san jose doesn't have any good tacos." so we were like what the fuck, this is all over tacos? I tell him, Alright, go wait for us over there at that bar and we'll walk with her and make sure she gets a ride home then meet up with you. As we waited with her for her ride, she kept going with san jose tacos suck and san jose doesnt have good tacos and now she was pissing me off. Night ends, whatever. Next day my wife and I taco-bout it, my wife says "man, last night huh? The f****n taco debacle of 2016." I said "yup, cause if it's one thing us San Joseans take seriously, it's our tacos." Taco lovers, Welcome to San Jose, California, home to over one million people and one of the biggest cities in the United states with hella taquerias, taco trucks, and taco stands. If you're walking the streets of San Jose and stop anyone to ask "excuse me, where's the best taco in town?" Chances are, you'll probably get a different answer each time, and that's the debacle. In a city of thousands of places to get a good taco, which place is the right place for you? But let's be honest, there's no such thing as "the best taco". Each taco is as unique as the individuals who consume them. And speaking of unique individuals, I'll be eating tacos while interviewing some of them. I'll be sitting with some of San Jose's finest comedians, artists, politicians, small business owners, and other San Jose creatives at their favorite taco spot.
