Could This Be AMD’s Vera Rubin Killer? Hands-On The 72-GPU Helios AI Rack!

Is this the NVIDIA Vera Rubin killer? We got to step right up to AMD’s massive new Helios AI Rack at Advancing AI 2026, and the engineering inside is mind-boggling. Join me for a hands-on hardware walkthrough of the 72-GPU behemoth, featuring the brand new Instinct MI455X GPUs and Zen 6 EPYC 9006 processors! Deep Dive: What’s Inside the Rack? In this video, we do a physical, step-by-step breakdown of the AMD Helios rack-scale AI solution introduced at Advancing AI 2026. This isn't just a slide deck—we are looking at the actual compute and switch trays in the flesh. AMD is claiming a 15% FP4 compute advantage and 50% more memory capacity (31 TB of HBM4 per rack) compared to NVIDIA's Vera Rubin NVL72. We break down how AMD is using their new Ultra Accelerator Link over Ethernet (UALoE) to link 72 Instinct MI455X GPUs so they function as a single, massive 2.9 EFLOP processor. We also take a close look at the CDNA 5 architecture and how the new Zen 6 EPYC 9006 series CPUs tie this memory monster together.
