The Thing With Two Heads

When this was a YouTube only show, it is one of the things that got me through the Covid lockdown. I have been a loyal listener since episode one. These guys are super talented and real. I like listening to them riff on all kinds of topics, mostly related to horror and classic genre media, but you also get to know them. They usually keep it fairly light but I love their grumpy rants like the “Get Off My Lawn” segment. As a man in his 50’s, I get it. They rarely get into any big discussions of serious matters like politics but, serious times sometimes call for serious discussions. I appreciate them recently showing the bravery and character it obviously takes to express what might be, but honestly shouldn’t be in my opinion, controversial opinions on current events. It’s not easy to do especially in these polarized times. Character still matters and I encourage people to truly think about what that means. I hope we get many more years with Sean and Christopher.

Listening can be tough when Chris is on, because he doesn’t seem to like anything. Instead of fun or thoughtful horror criticism, it comes off as overly negative and kind of pretentious, like nothing is good enough. It sucks the energy out of the conversation. Sean, on the other hand, is fine—he’s balanced and actually engages with the movies, which helps keep the podcast listenable.

I love listening to these guys talk about their history and experiences working with and interacting with film people. Great job! Also love Horror’s Hallowed Grounds. Fun stuff!
