A great, candid and open space where men and women discuss trauma and their journey recovering from it. Philo and Kate, take their recovery serious, but bring a levity and welcoming energy for me to feel safe and think about something incredibly difficult to think about, let alone talk about. Highly recommend.

First of all, can I just say, I f*€£ing love DOY podcasts because they speak to the heart and soul in all its authenticity and passion-driven craftwork. And honestly, I don’t know about you guys, but there’s nothing like hearing about trauma from those who actually have been through the wringer and come out the other side to tell the story. Professional help is great, don’t get me wrong. I am a long time user of all the resources available for treatment, and thank the universe for it. But there’s magic in the process of identification, and these two people are so down to earth, so funny, so SMART, so informed, it’s the perfect tune-up for when your psych is out of town or your sponsor’s not picking up or you just don’t even want to bother trying those things and would rather just lay in bed and feel better. Listen to this. You will. Make them apart of your recovery fam. It’s worth it.

A light, yet serious look at the damage that adverse childhood experiences can have on our lives. It’s life altering, but it doesn’t need to be a life sentence! Listen to Philo and Kate, they know what it’s like to be a survivor and offer some practical advice on how to live life free from the symptoms of PTSD.

Nothing like taking a subject I need to learn about for my own recovery, but really don’t wanna listen to, and sucking me in with your often funny, light hearted banter and guests. Philo and Kate host this podcast as if one has stopped by for a glass of lemonade. I can picture sitting in one of their kitchens, talking about the ins and outs of their days. They open us to the very human side of trauma. So welcoming. So well done.

Being a trauma survivor can feel very lonely and isolating, but Philo and Kate draw you into a safe space with empathy, compassion, humor, and wealth of resources to make it feel less daunting. I love this first episode for making me have “ah hah” moments and look forward to more from these two and their amazing guests.
