    Episode 302: Robots and A.I. in TV History!

    Artificial intelligence (A.I.) and robots have been a popular theme in science fiction television shows for many years. These shows often explore the relationship between humans and machines, and the potential consequences of advanced technology. From the classic series of "The Jetsons" to the more recent show "Westworld", A.I. and robots have been portrayed in a variety of ways in TV. One of the earliest portrayals of A.I. and robots on TV was in the 1960s series "The Jetsons". This cartoon depicted a futuristic society where robots were a common household item. The show presented a world where machines had taken over most of the manual labor, leaving humans to enjoy a life of leisure. This portrayal of A.I. and robots as helpful and subservient machines is still popular in some science fiction today. Another popular show that explores the relationship between humans and robots is "Battlestar Galactica". This series depicts a future where robots have turned against their human creators, leading to a war for survival. The robots, known as Cylons, are portrayed as intelligent and deadly, with the ability to mimic human behavior. The show asks important questions about the nature of consciousness and what it means to be human. More recently, the show "Westworld" has explored the idea of A.I. in a theme park setting.     SEASON 3 PREMIERE! The Comeback Show!

    Your favorite TV obsessed nerds are back! Join Adam and Luis as they celebrate their comeback! What better way to mark this amazing event than to talk about the most influential TV Show Comebacks in History!  TV comeback shows refer to television series that were cancelled or ended their initial run, but were later brought back for a new season or revival. These shows often aim to continue the storylines of beloved characters and appeal to audiences who enjoyed the original series. There are a number of reasons why a TV show may be cancelled in the first place. Low ratings, high production costs, creative differences, and conflicts with network executives are just a few examples. However, if a show has a dedicated fan base, it may be possible to bring it back years later. Some examples of TV comeback shows that were cancelled include: "Arrested Development": This critically acclaimed sitcom was cancelled by Fox after three seasons due to low ratings. However, it was later revived by Netflix for a fourth season in 2013, and a fifth season was released in 2018. "Gilmore Girls": This beloved drama series about a mother and daughter was cancelled by the WB after seven seasons. However, Netflix brought it back for a four-episode revival in 2016, which was later extended to include an additional season. "Twin Peaks": This groundbreaking mystery series was cancelled by ABC after two seasons due to low ratings. However, it was later revived by Showtime in 2017 for a limited series, which continued the storylines of the original characters. "Fuller House": This family-friendly sitcom was a sequel to the popular series "Full House." It was cancelled by Netflix after five seasons due to declining ratings. However, the show's producers have expressed interest in continuing the story in some form, potentially with a spin-off or new series. In general, TV comeback shows are a way for fans to reconnect with characters and storylines that they loved, and they can be a welcome return for audiences who missed their favorite shows. However, not all comeback shows are successful, and some may fail to capture the magic of the original series.

    Episode 203: "Most Badass Women in TV History!"

    Join us in celebrating Women’s History Month! Historically, women have been underrepresented behind the camera, and often left out of television roles that are complex and powerful. The 2016 Boxed In study from the San Diego State University’s Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film reports that these trends continue today: 9 percent of male characters were portrayed as leaders, compared to only 5 percent of female characters. Ninety-one percent of shows across screen-based platforms employed no women directors, 76 percent had no women creators, and 71 percent no female writers.
