What If Your Body Isn't the Problem?

Questions? Comments? Engage! Here's a quick exercise: Make a list of everything wrong with your body. Easy, right? You probably have that list ready to go. Now make a list of what you LIKE about your body, or what your body's strengths are. Harder, isn't it? This is the relationship most of us have with our bodies - and in this episode, I want to invite you to question whether that has to be true. In this episode, we explore: Why we can list everything "wrong" with our bodies instantly, but struggle to name what we likeWhat made you choose to have a body in this lifetime (and no, it wasn't punishment)The sensations and experiences only a body can give youWhy "just think positive" doesn't work (and what energetic congruence actually means)The chocolate paradox: how your judgments about food change your body at a molecular levelWhy you can't trick yourself with affirmations when your underlying beliefs haven't shiftedHow to actually get present with your body (and what that even means)The power of asking: "What is my body trying to tell me?" instead of "How do I fix this?"Key concepts: Your body listens to everything you think and say about itThoughts change molecular structure (this is scientifically measurable now)Being present with your body means getting curious, not trying to control or fixPain and "problems" might be your body's way of getting your attention for something else entirelyQuestions to ask yourself: When was the last time you actually had FUN with your body? What would change if you stopped fighting your body and started having a relationship with it?What's one small moment of enjoyment you could choose with your body today? This is the first episode of The Uncomfortable Question, where we explore the questions that unlock your own wisdom about bodies, animals, relationships, and life. A note: This episode was recorded live during a "Meet Suzy" event, so you'll hear some audience interaction. Have a question for the show? Noise Sensitive Dog? This is for them!

Questions? Comments? Engage! If your dog goes into full panic mode during thunderstorms, fireworks, or other loud noises, this episode is for you. But here's the thing: when your dog is anxious and you don't know how to help them, you get anxious too. You want them to be calm, but they're not calm, and now you're both a mess. And your dog? They're picking up on YOUR anxiety just as much as they're reacting to the noise. In this episode, we explore: Why your anxiety contributes to your dog's anxiety (and how to break that cycle)What noise sensitivity might really be about (cellular memory, past life trauma, protective instincts gone haywire)The practice of "being the rock in the stream" - staying calm so your animal can follow your leadWhy your dog might get MORE agitated when you first try to calm them (and why that's actually normal)How to establish cellular-level peace with your animal BEFORE the noisy event happensThe importance of practicing this when things are calm (not waiting for the crisis)This episode includes: Practical instructions for a calming practice with your animalA guided meditation/acknowledgment you can play directly for your dog (on loop!)Permission to let your animal show you where they're struggling (without trying to fix them)Key insights: Your animal is connected to YOUR body - if you can get calm, they can access that calm tooGetting calm isn't in their repertoire when they're anxious - you have to show them it's safePast trauma (even from other lifetimes) can live in their cellular structureThis isn't about forcing them to be calm - it's about creating the space where calm becomes possibleHow to use this episode: Listen once with your animal to understand the practicePlay the meditation portion on loop for your dog (even when you're not home)Practice this regularly BEFORE loud events (start a few weeks ahead if possible)Use it during storms/fireworks once you've established the practiceBest for: Dogs and cats sensitive to thunderstorms, fireworks, gunshots, or any loud noises. Also helpful for animals with general anxiety. Note: This episode includes repetition - the guided portion loops so your animal can listen multiple times. The looping is intentional for their benefit.
