    Ooh Baby, Baby

Despite being one of the richest countries in the world, why does the United States have the highest maternal mortality rate out of all developed countries? In this episode, we talk about maternal health with Cecelia Lim, a registered nurse working with babies and parents in the NICU at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She answers that question along with giving us a glimpse into the gaps in our healthcare system before, during, and after birth. Cecelia also breaks down the stigma against midwives and doulas and emphasizes their importance to maternal care.  Episode Song Inspiration: “Push It” by Salt N’ Peppa . . . Young, Gifted, & Black

There’s more to Black culture than the struggle. Yes, the struggle is very real but there’s also joy, laughter, and excellence. That’s why I decided to bring my friends, Erika Scott and Gabe Rollins to talk about how they define Black culture and whether or not they think it’s limited to solely Black people. We also have fun sharing our favorite Black tv shows, movies, and music artists and then end it with a fun game of Black trivia!  Episode Song Inspiration: “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black” by Nina Simone . . . Building A Home

Currently in the United States, there are over 800,000 people who are under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. These ‘dreamers’ were brought into the country as children from all over the world and DACA allows them to work and study here without fear of retaliation and deportation. Now we hear so many varying views on the program, but what is it like being a Dreamer? Today, we have current Lehigh senior and DACA recipient, Julius Wibisono to share his experiences. We talk about what support DACA has given him, his hopes for the future, and what ‘home’ means to him.  Episode Song Inspiration: “To Build a Home” by The Cinematic Orchestra . . .  Follow Julius Wibisono Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/juliusverdio/ Twitter: @juliusverdii Website:https://www.juliusvwibisono.com/ . . .
