The Vanity Prodcast is hosted by Scott, a guy who's actually getting into the podcast game after "thinking about it" for far too long. Since he's finally deciding to do this for himself, he's jokingly (well, maybe half-jokingly) calling it his vanity project. And it's a podcast. You get it now, right?

On the show, Scott will talk about, well... whatever he happens to feel like talking about that day. Primarily based on pop culture and societal observation, he'll also have some cool guests, just for good measure.

Episode 18: A conversation with singer/songwriter Greg Holden

Episode 18: A conversation with singer/songwriter Greg Holden

In the episode, Scott talks with musician Greg Holden. The two dive into his move to the states from the UK, his start into music, as well as his latest album “World War Me.”

While his name may not be that of a household variety yet, his work definitely is.  Greg's music has been featured in the television shows Private Practice, One Tree Hill, and Sons of Anarchy.  He also cowrote and produced the song during the closing credits of Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Greg also wrote the coronation song "Home" for American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips; the single went on to sell over 5 million copies in the United States and become the best-selling coronation song by any Idol alum.

Scott and Greg chat about Greg's current work, songwriting during a global pandemic, what it's like being signed to - and subsequently dropped by - a major record label, and the surreal moment of standing in an arena while a sold-out crowd sings your song.

They also tackle where he sees his career heading next... and, of course,  aliens.

Episode 16: We've got some things to talk about

Episode 16: We've got some things to talk about

On this episode, Scott addresses the issue that's on almost everyone's mind right now - police brutality and racism in America.

Scott is joined by his friend and neighbor Kerry; the pair discuss Kerry's first hand experience growing up with racism in his native New York City.  The duo will also discuss how so many people aren't properly informed on what certain protest statements stand for, plus how people are impacted every day by racism.

A warning: there's language explaining/pertaining to racism and bigoted behavior contained in this episode.

A cornucopia of fun

This is a great podcast for those of us who get bored listening to shows that are centered around a central topic. This is like a variety show, where each episode is different than the last. I like being surprised by what the topic is going to be each week, or who the guest is going to be. Scott is a great interviewer, and his voice is easy to listen to. Every episode has been enjoyable, and I’m excited to see where this adventure goes.
