    The VBMA is distinguished for the high quality professional development curriculum it provides for its members.  It accomplishes the purpose of preparing its members to be impactful leaders within the veterinary medical field through two of its unique programs, the Business Certificate Program and the Honors Portfolio.  During this episode of The VBMA Podcast, enjoy insights from two previous 2022 VBMA National Board members, Dr. Kyleigh Tyler and Dr. Joe Hurston.  Dr. Tyler is a 2022 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is currently an anatomic pathology resident at Michigan State University and a National Institute of Health Comparative Biomedical Scientist Training Program fellow.  Dr. Thurston is a 2022 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and is currently working as an associate small animal general practice veterinarian in Minnesota.  They are both filled with incredible wisdom, insight, and goodness and we are so appreciative to have them join our community for this installment of The VBMA Podcast.  We promise that their knowledge will help bring you success!

    For many a veterinary student and veterinarian, taking on educational debt has been a necessity to fund their veterinary education.  However, the magnitude of the educational debt burden on the veterinary profession has become increasingly heavy for many, thus necessitating effective financial solutions for the veterinary professional. For today’s episode of The VBMA Podcast, we warmly welcome Dr. Rebecca Mears and are fortunate to learn from her through her breadth of knowledge on this topic.  

    Dr. Mears, a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, started her career as an equine practitioner and is now putting her non-clinical interests to work with the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) Student Team and the VIN Foundation Student Debt Education Team. She is passionate about giving back to the profession and improving the lives of veterinarians, pre-veterinary students, and veterinary students.
