    John 11:55-12:11

    Welcome to this week’s worship service at The Vine! 🌿 In today’s message, we continue through the Gospel of John, arriving at a powerful and deeply personal moment in John 12:1–11. At a dinner in Bethany, three very different responses to Jesus are on display—and each one reveals something about the heart. Mary responds with extravagant worship, pouring out costly perfume at Jesus’ feet. Judas responds with criticism, masking a lack of devotion behind seemingly practical concerns. Meanwhile, others are drawn in, curious or believing, while opposition continues to grow. At the center of it all is this truth:Your response to Jesus reveals what He is worth to you. In this message, we reflect on:- What it means to worship Jesus with our best—not our leftovers- How true devotion is often costly, personal, and wholehearted- The danger of hiding a lack of devotion behind “practicality” or criticism- The reality that Jesus always calls for a response—we cannot stay neutral Mary’s act filled the room with fragrance. After raising Lazarus from the dead, many believed—but others chose rejection, fear, and ultimately opposition. 📖 This passage reminds us that:- Jesus always forces a response—belief or rejection- Fear of losing control can blind us to truth- God can use even evil plans to accomplish His saving purposes- Rejecting Jesus doesn’t lead to neutrality—it leads to hardened hearts What should have led to worship instead led to a plot to kill Him. Yet even in this, we see God’s greater plan unfolding—bringing salvation not just to one nation, but to all who would believe. This message challenges us to consider our own response to Jesus.     Welcome to our Easter service at The Vine! 🌿 This Easter, we gathered to celebrate the hope, life, and victory we have in Jesus. Through a powerful message from John 11:1–45, we looked at the story of Lazarus and were reminded that Easter is not just about what Jesus did—it’s about who He is. When Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection and the life,” He is not only pointing to a future hope, but offering new life right now to all who believe in Him. In this message, we explored several powerful truths:- Jesus is not limited by our timeline — even when He seems delayed, He is working for a greater purpose- Jesus meets us in our pain — He sees, feels, and enters into our grief- Jesus brings life where there seems to be no hope — what looks final to us is not final to Him Even in moments of loss, confusion, or waiting, we are reminded that Jesus is present—and He is powerful. What began as celebration quickly turned into comparison, and comparison gave way to fear, distortion, and destructive behavior. Saul’s story reminds us how easily jealousy can take hold when we lose sight of God’s goodness in our own lives. In this message, we see how:- Jealousy begins with comparison- Jealousy distorts reality- Jealousy leads to destructive actions- Jealousy ultimately opposes the work of God But Scripture doesn’t just diagnose the problem—it points us to a better way. We are challenged to:- Celebrate what God is doing in others- Trust His plan for our own lives- Remain faithful where He has placed us At its core, this passage invites us to examine our hearts.     Welcome to this week’s worship service at The Vine! 🌿 As we continue our series through the life of David, this message looks at one of the most powerful friendships in Scripture: David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 18:1–5). In a world where friendships can often be shallow or unreliable, the Bible gives us a picture of what true, God-centered friendship looks like. Jonathan and David’s relationship shows us that real friendship is more than shared interests—it is rooted in shared hearts and a shared commitment to the Lord. In this message we explore three key marks of true friendship:- True friendship begins with shared heart- True friendship involves sacrificial love- True friendship supports God’s calling in someone else’s life Jonathan loved David deeply and willingly gave up his own royal privileges to support what God was doing in David’s life. His example challenges us to consider the kind of friendships we cultivate and the kind of friends we are becoming.     1 Samuel 17

    Welcome to this week’s worship service at The Vine! 🌿 In today’s service we shared in communion, remembering the incredible forgiveness we have through Jesus Christ. As Scripture reminds us, God removes our sins “as far as the east is from the west,” a powerful picture of the grace we celebrate at the Lord’s Table. Our message then turned to one of the most well-known stories in the Bible: David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). While often remembered as a story about courage, the deeper message is about trusting the faithfulness of God. Before David ever faced the giant on the battlefield, he had already seen God work in the hidden places of his life—protecting him from lions and bears while tending sheep. Those past experiences of God’s faithfulness gave David the confidence to face what seemed impossible. In this message we reflect on several key truths:- The battles we face today are often shaped by how we remember God’s faithfulness yesterday- Courage grows from trust in God, not confidence in ourselves- The greatest victories come when we rely on God’s strength instead of our own David didn’t focus on how big the giant was. Instead, he remembered how faithful God had already been—and believed He would do it again. If you are facing a “giant” in your life today—fear, uncertainty, a difficult situation, or an overwhelming challenge—this message is an encouragement to look back at God’s past faithfulness and trust Him again today. Welcome to this week’s worship service at The Vine! 🌿 In today’s message from 2 Timothy 1:3–8, we were challenged with a powerful question: What can we do—whether young or old—to further God’s kingdom? Looking at Paul’s encouragement to Timothy, we’re reminded that faith is never meant to stop with us. Paul invested in Timothy. Timothy’s faith was shaped by his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. The gospel moved from one generation to the next. We explored the truth that: Everyone needs a Paul, a Barnabas, and a Timothy It is our responsibility to pass on our faith The Holy Spirit within us must be continually fanned into flame God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline This service included a special time of group prayer for young people, asking God to raise up bold, faithful disciples who will carry the gospel forward. Whether you are mentoring someone, encouraging someone, or being poured into yourself, this message is a call to live courageously and unashamed of the gospel. May we be people who reignite the flame and help the next generation do the same.
