Reactive Abuse Why You’re Not the Problem (And Never Were)

Trigger Warning: This episode discusses psychological abuse, emotional manipulation, trauma bonds, and toxic relationship dynamics. This is one of the hardest episodes I’ve ever recorded. In this deeply personal and vulnerable conversation, I open up about a moment in my life where I became someone I didn’t recognize, and carried the weight of that moment for years, believing I was the problem. But what I’ve learned through healing, therapy, and trauma-informed work… changed everything. In this episode, we break down: What reactionary (reactive) abuse actually isHow toxic relationship patterns slowly build over timeWhy your nervous system goes into survival mode (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)The truth about trauma bonds and why leaving isn’t as simple as people thinkHow attachment styles and past wounds shape your reactionsAnd how to begin releasing shame and reclaim your truth Because here’s what no one tells you: Your reaction may be visible…But the thousands of moments that led to it often go unseen. If you’ve ever: Questioned your sanity in a relationshipBeen made to feel like “the crazy one”Reacted in ways that didn’t feel like youCarried shame for how you showed upThis episode is for you. This is not about excusing behavior. This is about understanding the why, so you can heal, grow, and break the cycle. You are not brokenYou are not the problemYou were responding to something real If this resonates, share it with someone who needs to hear it.And if you’re ready to go deeper, come join us inside the Inspired Warrior Project community. From Pain to Purpose: My Story of Trauma, Survival, and Finally Choosing Myself

In this deeply vulnerable episode, I finally open up about the story I’ve carried in my body for decades, the childhood I survived, the trauma I walked through, the pain I kept hidden, and the patterns I’m still healing from today. This isn’t for pity. This isn’t for attention. This is for connection… and for every person who grew up surviving things they never had the language for. I share: • What it felt like to be the strong one before I ever got to be a child • The reality of abuse, neglect, and being disbelieved • Being taken from my home and navigating group homes + foster care • Motherhood while in survival mode • Love, betrayal, and losing myself in relationships • Losing nine people since 2018, including my brother • The moment I realized I could not abandon myself one more time • How trauma shaped my identity, attachment wounds, and nervous system • And how I began choosing myself, over and over again, until it became my new truth I talk openly about forgiveness, compassion, integrity, and the messy, holy process of breaking generational patterns while still grieving the people we lose along the way. And I share the truth that changed everything for me: My pain became my purpose. And it’s why the Inspired Warrior Project exists, to make sure no one heals alone. If you grew up unseen, unheard, unprotected, or constantly surviving… this episode is for you.If you’re rebuilding yourself, learning to choose yourself, or trying to understand why you react the way you do… this episode is for you.If you’ve ever felt “too much,” “not enough,” or “hard to love”… this episode is for you. You deserve safety. You deserve compassion. And you are not alone in this community. At the end, I share a few reflection questions to help you connect to your inner child and your body gently. If this episode brings things up for you, please pause, breathe, journal, or reach out.You never have to walk this path by yourself. Remastered - From Situationship to Self-Respect Walking Away from Him, Opening to Someone New

In this episode, I’m catching you up on the last few weeks — the heavy, the holy, and the hilarious. I share what it’s been like navigating the second anniversary of my brother’s passing, the emotional hangover of my situationship with Mike, and why I still keep a tiny rubber duck from that relationship glued to my dashboard… not because of him, but because it reminds me of me — the woman who loves hard, shows up, and refuses to let heartbreak harden her. We dive into what it means to stop abandoning yourself, even when you’re deeply in love with someone who cannot meet you. I read the first six of the Scorpio new moon journal prompts I wrote (and answered myself), and talk about the moment I finally saw how much I’d made him my whole world while my real family — my friends, my community — were loving me the entire time. I also share something vulnerable: why I chose to date someone in an open relationship while I’m still healing, what safety now means to me after emotional abuse and past sexual trauma, and how integrity, honesty, and advocacy have become non-negotiable boundaries in my life. We end with gratitude — for the email that made me cry, the friends who would literally call in a welfare check, and the global community that keeps tuning in. This one is for anyone who’s ever stayed too long, loved too hard, and is finally learning to love themselves better. Stop Looking. I’m Not Your Secret Anymore.

In this episode, Kass Gomez opens up about the moment she stopped protecting the man who broke her and finally started protecting herself. After years of silence, betrayal, and self-blame, she’s reclaiming her voice — not to expose anyone, but to free herself from the weight of secrets she never deserved to carry. It’s not about revenge. It’s about regulation. It’s about learning the difference between love and surveillance. And it’s about remembering that closure doesn’t always come through a conversation — sometimes, it’s a boundary. Listen as Kass shares her story of betrayal, boundaries, and becoming the woman who will never again be anyone’s secret. She reflects on what it means to be watched instead of loved, to protect others while abandoning yourself, and to finally say, “Enough.” This conversation explores:• Emotional boundaries after betrayal• Nervous system regulation and codependency• Turning pain into personal power• The freedom of choosing truth over image Because sometimes closure isn’t found in their apology — it’s found in your own voice. Take a deep breath. Inhale truth. Exhale pain. You’re notalone in this. You’re growing. You’re becoming. And every time someone tries to break you — remember, it’s only shaping you into your higher self.
