In pursuit of that goal, he pledged to eliminate the U.S. trade deficit and promote domestic manufacturing by imposing tariffs on nations he felt had taken advantage of America. The so-called tariff war has created quite a stir causing the economic world to shutter. In the last few days, however, there seems to have been a shift toward more cooperation among nations prompting many to hope for peace and prosperity.
