54. The Future of The White Flag
As I step into the most important ministry opportunity of life, I'm making changes to how I approach the podcast and how frequently I upload new content. In this short episode, I outline what that new opportunity is, and thank all of you who have helped make this podcast what it's become today!
53. Trading the Invented Self for the Authentic Self, and more w/Chris Mosher
Most people spend all their time "finding themselves," when they're actually just settling for an "invented self..."—a version that keeps you safe in childhood, but can't ever lead to flourishing. We dive into that, and more, in PART 2 of this interview with the magnificent Chris Mosher!

51. How "Noticing" Helps You Find A Real Rest
If you're living at warp speed, you will inevitably warp your soul.
In this episode, I break down the importance of "noticing" what is going on within us, and create space for you to step into the invitation of the Holy Spirit—to notice what burdens you, what tires you, and where you need to find a real rest with Jesus.
Timely, Practical and Life-Changing
The practical disciplines discussed on this podcast will encourage your hunger for more and afflict the apathy we all face. I dare say, it’s not for the casual listener but for whoever is ready to slow down and confront the reality of our heart’s condition and who God is. I challenge anyone to listen, learn and try these disciplines out.
To suggest that we disconnect our devices, shut off from social media, and choose quiet time and seek stillness is as crazy as it for Jesus to preach that the way to God was through Him. Way too often I find myself in my head trying to figure out what it is I’m supposed to do next and I fail to ask God what it is he would have me do. Somehow if I do more, and do more often I will find the right answer. Instead the right answer is revealed when I stop doing, stop thinking, and surrender. The White Flag is all about surrender! Jonathan Moynihan has created a podcast about not doing more but giving up and practicing the presence of God. Like a Samurai from feudal Japan Jonathan is here to teach us ancient practices to navigate in a modern world. He’s a hall of famer in my book!
This is my go to podcast during my morning commute. It’s refreshing to put the practices into action and often just to hear that there is an alternative. Finding quite with Jesus is so needed and this podcast helps me to do that.
