Episode #79 - A Story of Internalized Patriarchy: The Voice in Your Head

Have you ever had a thought that made you stop and think… “Where the hell did that come from?” In this episode of The Witch’s Way Podcast, we’re diving deep into something most women experience—but rarely talk about: internalized patriarchy and the thoughts we didn’t consciously choose. We open with a real, raw moment—an automatic reaction that didn’t align with our actual beliefs. The kind of thought that feels uncomfortable, confusing, maybe even shameful. And instead of brushing it off, we ask the real question: Where do these thoughts come from? From there, we break down the patriarchy in simple, real-world terms—not as “man vs. woman,” but as a system that has shaped our culture, our expectations, and the way we see ourselves and each other. We explore how women were historically denied basic rights—like owning property, voting, or controlling their own bodies—and how those systems didn’t just disappear… they evolved into the world we’re living in today. But this episode goes deeper than history. We talk about how patriarchy becomes internalized—through family, religion, media, school, and cultural expectations. How we were taught to seek approval, be “good,” stay quiet, compete with other women, and disconnect from our own intuition. And then we name it clearly: Automatic thoughts. Those fast, unconscious reactions that don’t actually reflect who we are—but reflect what we were taught. 👉 “The first thought is what we were taught. The second thought is who we are.” We also go into one of the hardest truths to face: Why women sometimes blame other women. Not because they’re cruel—but because it creates the illusion of control in a system that hasn’t always been safe for them. This conversation brings up real emotions—guilt, shame, anger, even betrayal. And instead of avoiding that, we walk through it. Because awareness isn’t something to fear. It’s where your power begins. We close the episode with practical ways to start deconditioning: How to notice and question your thoughts How to separate your truth from what you were taught How to rewrite the narrative in a way that actually supports you Plus, we weave in the deeper layer—the witch wound—and how centuries of silencing, punishment, and survival have shaped the way women relate to themselves and each other today. This episode is not about blame. It’s about clarity. It’s about compassion. It’s about remembering: You are not your conditioning. You are the one who gets to rewrite it.

Episode #78 - Surviving Sexual Abuse as Women: The Patterns We Don’t Talk About

Healing from sexual trauma, understanding PTSD patterns in women, and reclaiming your power through awareness and witchcraft practices. In this deeply honest and powerful episode of The Witch’s Way Podcast, we explore the hidden patterns many women carry after experiencing sexual abuse, assault, or long-term trauma—and how those patterns quietly shape our relationships, boundaries, self-worth, and spiritual connection. With statistics showing that 1 in 5 women in the U.S. have experienced sexual assault and nearly 1 in 3 women globally experience physical or sexual violence, this isn’t a rare story—it’s a shared one. This episode is not about labeling you as broken. It’s about helping you recognize what was learned in survival… so you can choose something different in healing. We break down common trauma responses in women, including: Hypervigilance, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm People-pleasing, “good girl” conditioning, and difficulty setting boundaries Trust issues, attachment wounds, and repeating unhealthy relationship patterns Dissociation, body disconnection, and confusion around intimacy Perfectionism, control behaviors, and self-sabotage We also talk about complex PTSD (C-PTSD)—what it is, how it develops from prolonged trauma, and why so many women are silently navigating it without even realizing it. But we don’t stop at awareness. Because awareness is where your power begins. Through a grounded, no-fluff lens, we explore how witchcraft practices, self-awareness, and emotional regulation can help you: Reconnect with your intuition after trauma Build safe, embodied trust within yourself Release shame, guilt, and inherited survival patterns Create boundaries that feel aligned—not forced Turn your healing into a conscious, empowered practice We also dive into the deeper truth many don’t say out loud: The patriarchy isn’t just about who’s in charge—it’s a system that teaches women to be agreeable instead of honest, and men to perform power instead of feel. And both leave us disconnected from our true selves. This episode is your invitation to stop performing—and start becoming whole. To stop carrying what was never yours. To take your power back, not through force… but through awareness. ✨ Because when you see the pattern, you can change the pattern. ✨ And when you change the pattern, you change your life. If you’ve ever felt “not good enough,” disconnected from your body, stuck in cycles you don’t understand, or unsure how to trust yourself again—this episode is for you.

Episode #77 - Practicing Patience: Chaos, Control and Unhealed Patterns

In this episode, Kat shares a recent trip to Savannah with a fellow witch friend- what starts as a simple getaway quickly turns into a powerful lesson in self-awareness, compatibility, and emotional growth. On the surface, the trip was full of Mercury retrograde chaos: wrong tickets, navigation issues, getting lost, losing items, and constant miscommunication. But beneath the surface, something deeper was unfolding. Kat reflects on how her life- shaped by instability, survival, and self-reliance- has wired her to seek control, clarity, and safety. In contrast, her travel companion moved through the experience with ease, flexibility, and a “go with the flow” attitude. Neither approach was wrong but they revealed two very different “operating systems.” As the trip progressed, Kat noticed feelings of discomfort, frustration, and disconnection. The silence between them felt loud. The lack of deep conversation felt unfamiliar. And she found herself asking a difficult question: “Is it me?” Instead of avoiding that question, she leaned into it. This episode explores: How childhood experiences shape how we navigate relationships Why uncertainty can feel unsafe for some and freeing for others How travel reveals emotional patterns, communication styles, and compatibility The difference between liking someone and being truly aligned with them And why not everyone is meant to be your person One of the most powerful takeaways is the role of reflection. Rather than blaming the situation or the other person, Kat took time to process her feelings, examine her reactions, and understand her patterns. Through that reflection, she realized: -Her need for control comes from past survival. -Her discomfort wasn’t failure—it was information. -And her ability to stay present, communicate boundaries, and not shut down… was growth. This story also highlights an important truth: -Different lives create different struggles. While Kat’s past was rooted in survival, her friend’s challenges centered around long-term caregiving and responsibility. Different experiences but both valid, both heavy in their own ways. In the end, this wasn’t a story about a failed trip. It was a story about evolution. About recognizing that: -compatibility requires more than shared interests -emotional rhythm matters -and self-awareness is the most powerful tool we have -and maybe the biggest lesson of all: ✨ You can respect someone ✨ You can like someone ✨ And they still may not be your person And that doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It just means you’re learning who you are.
