
The WMRN Archives
The WMRN Radio Archives preserves and shares the broadcast history of WMRN Radio, documenting the station’s role in the life, culture, and history of Marion, Ohio. This collection features preserved airchecks, station promotions, news coverage, interviews, special broadcasts, community events, public service announcements, and other archival recordings spanning decades of local radio broadcasting. Featured material includes historic WMRN programming, Groundhog Day broadcasts featuring Buckeye Chuck, voices of former staff members, station-produced promotions, and recordings reflecting the evolution of local broadcasting in North Central Ohio. Each recording is presented with historical context whenever available and is preserved as an authentic representation of its original broadcast. Audio quality, production techniques, language, and references reflect the era in which the material was created and remain part of the historical record. The mission of the WMRN Radio Archives is to identify, preserve, document, and provide public access to recordings that illustrate the history of WMRN Radio and its service to the Marion community. New recordings are added as archival materials are discovered, digitized, researched, and preserved.
