    Finding Home

    We explore 2 stories of finding home in food. Dennis was a young man during the 1970's. Rather than be drafted for the Vietnam war, he enlisted in the NAVY. He had a tough time in bootcamp, being one of a few asians, and couldn't stand the the poor food, but on an adventurous trip with a friend they found rice and they found home. The second story is told by Akin. His favorite dish is his grandmother's, Tomato Beef Chow Mein. This dish meant quality time with his grandmother, and now it takes on the same meaning with his family.
