    18. Create Your Most Beautiful Life

    Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired with how your story is unfolding?  Did you know you don't need to wait any longer for things to change!  You have the power within to change your story and create your most beautiful life.  The way to do this is with the power of words.  It is time for you to discover the Word Effect and to start living the life you have always wanted to live.

    A favorite quote I have in my office from Maya Angelou says this "Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God."  If you are ready to change your story---listen to that inner voice that encourages you to begin to see how the words you put on matter.

    In this podcast we discuss how our story matters and I offer positive and proactive tools to discover how investing in yourself is one thing you do have control of.  What word will you put on today?  I share ideas on how to take time to listen, read, see, write and hear words that are powerful.

    One way we can change our story is to start doing things differently!   Have you ever thought I don't have time for this or that...or I will do that later?  Those thoughts are ones that keep us stuck.  The time is now and as you put yourself first the power of words will change everything.

    Judgment Free Zone

    Judgment Free Zone

    We all know it is best to worry about ourselves and not others---so how come it so hard at times to do so?  It is time to practice putting on the words, Judgment Free Zone.  These are words that have been a game changer for how I show up to life and I want to offer them to you too.  We can't always control our first thoughts but we do have power to decide our second and third thoughts.  When we think negative thoughts towards others or want to start to judge a person, let us remember that judgement only causes us misery, not the person we are judging.  When we think of how to be happy in life we will do best if we just keep our focus on ourselves.  A mentor of mine offered me these words to say, "change me, bless them" when I find I don't agree with how someone is doing something and want to start passing judgment.   Or like the quote says, "the happiest people I know are evaluating and improving themselves.  The unhappy people are usually evaluating and judging others."  This life is too short to be unhappy.  Where are you spending your time and focus?

    Look For The Good

    Look For The Good

    Where is your focus? It is time to look for the good and I am going to remind you how!   Our brains have an easier time focusing on what is not going right then on the good around us (negativity bias). The awesome thing is---we have the power within to redirect our minds to look for the good despite the circumstances.  We can't always control our first thoughts but we can discover how to redirect our minds and put on thoughts that help us focus on the good.  Abraham Lincoln said, "most folks are as happy as they make up their mind to be."  We feel a certain way by the thoughts we are putting on each day.  As we become aware of this we have the opportunity to change our perspective and look for the good.  We might not be aware of where our focus is but our brain sure pays attention.  Where are you focused?  In this episode I share about the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and talk about this simple video that explains how our RAS works.  I've included the link to the video for you to check out.  It is worth watching.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=QCnfAzAIhV.  I  .

    How To Put On Love

    How do you want to feel today?  Today, we discuss how to put on LOVE!  Did you know that you have the power to decide how you feel based on the thoughts you choose to put on?  As humans we all have a desire to love and be loved.  

    Each morning you decide what to put on physically, you begin to make little and small choices.  You might think about different circumstances that start to determine what you put on, such as the weather, what activity you are going to be doing for the day, and even how you feel as you decide. For me, every Thursday morning  I attend an adult women's clogging class.  I wake up and dress accordingly.    I wear exercise clothes, tennis shoes, and have a small bag that I take my clogging shoes in to change into once I get to the studio.  I think about what I am putting on because I know it is much easier clogging in clothes that allow me to move.  I would never choose to show up to clogging in jeans and snow-boots.   I am intentional on what I put on.  

    We often spend more time thinking of what to wear physically than what to put on internally!  This podcast is to remind you how important it is to think about the thoughts you choose to put on each day.  It is time to become aware of our thoughts and become more intentional on how we want to feel.   Ask yourself, How do I want to feel?  If you are wanting to feel more love in your life, I share three powerful thoughts that you can practice putting on.  I also will be sharing how powerful it is to practice as we step forward making progress in our lives.  Words Matter!  You can create the life you have always wanted with the power of words.  What words will you put on today?

    The Creative Process of Becoming

    The Creative Process of Becoming

    As human beings we have the desire to evolve and become better. In this episode we will discuss the creative process of becoming.  You have the opportunity to put on words that allow you to step forward to who you want to become. The Word Effect allows us to ditch willpower and discover how-to put-on word power.

    The power of words has shown me how to take responsibility for myself and see that the power to change my story is within me.  You can change your story with the words you choose to put on.  A belief is a thought we have put on over and over again and forget to even question it.  The great thing about this is that the power to change our thoughts is within each one of us.

    A baby learning to walk falls down and just gets up and tries again.  If the baby looks to her past, she would never walk because she has no evidence of walking before.  The baby is always future focused and that is what allows her to keep moving forward. She isn’t thinking I can’t do this; she is focused on that she can. We all started out with future focus thinking too. Today we are doing things that we never knew how to do such as walking, talking, etc. There came a time in our lives that we started to look to our past for evidence and became more past focused. I share a story on this episode of a friend who decided to stop dreaming because she would only look to her past and it showed her that she hadn't accomplished any of the things she desired so she decided to stop trying!  When we look to our past, we don't see evidence that we have done the things we desire to do or be and many of us stop trying, just as my friend did.

    It is time to discover how to dream again and live our lives with future focus!   When we put on words that drive the creative process of becoming, we will experience The Word Effect which has us looking forward not backwards.  It allows us to step forward from stories that were stuck in perfectionism, self-pity and procrastination to ones of becoming and being the person we secretly desired to be.  We don't have to do more to become we just have to put on thoughts that better serve us.

    It is time to "see the world differently" as one of my favorite books, “What Do You Do with an Idea" by Kobi Yamada states. I love this book so much that I share the entire book in this episode.  The words are powerful and true! I invite you to see the world differently too and it starts with the words you decide to put on.

    Words Matter. You can create the life you want with the power of words.

    13. How to Belong and Just Be You

    13. How to Belong and Just Be You

    How are you showing up to your life?  Are you living the life you have always wanted to create for yourself?  Why not?  It is time to ask these empowering questions and discover that our own unique story is powerful and amazing just the way it is today!  When we think of our story, it often has a negative thought attached because our focus tends to be on what isn't happening instead of what is.  We can't always control our first thought but we have the power to decide what thoughts we continue to put on over and over again.  When we have thoughts with the words should or shouldn't never serve us.  Like I should have done this or I shouldn't have done that.  They are thoughts that make us feel less than, discouraged, or disappointed and never drive actions to create the results we have wanted.  We want to ask empowering questions that allow our brain to focus on the good.  As we ask these questions we will discover how to put on thoughts that help us feel unconditional love and acceptance for the story we have created.  There is power to change our story but first we must accept where we are!  Brene Brown has said, "Vulnerability is hard, and it's scary, and it feels dangerous, but it is not as hard, scary, or dangerous as getting to the end of our lives and having to ask ourselves, 'what if i would have shown up?'  Are you showing up for your life?  We often think, I will show up when this or that is happening and we continue to wait for our circumstances to change.    It is our thoughts that cause our suffering, not our circumstances!  This is good news to know because we can change our thoughts that power is within each of us.   As you decide how you want to belong---you will discover who you were meant to be and will learn that comparing ourselves to others is not the answer.  If you are ready to experience the creative process of The Word Effect, continue to show up and see how powerful words are.  Words matter.  You can create the life you want with the power of words.  I can't wait to show you how to belong and just be you!

Every Episode!

I just learned of this podcast today, and after listening to the first episode I wanted to hear them all! Becky shares stories and experiences that are so real and relatable. She invites us to put the power of words to work and shows us how!
