Ep. 20 Part 1: Is Richard Madden the Next JAMES BOND? BOND 25 Filming in Norway

Shake up those martinis because Episode 20 of The Words Are Not Enough is a 2 PART SPECIAL! In Part 1 Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following: Tomorrow Never Lies 1. Bond may be Heading to Norway after-all * Yesterday a Norwegian Bond fan site by the name of James Bond-Magasinet teased "huge Bond 25 news" and today it would seem we have gotten it in the form of a statement from the Norwegian Film Institute. In corroboration with some rumours that were circulating last month, the NFI has been offered a 47 million NOK (Norwegian Krone) grant to a project going by the name "B25" as part of a Tax Incentive Scheme to draw projects with an large international reach to the Scandinavian country (which is about 5.5 million USD). In the statement, Stine Helgeland, the NIF's Executive Director, said “We are pleased that filming of the film with the preliminary title B25 is considering being shot in Norway,” adding that the grant would be “the largest in the incentive scheme’s history.” Past recipients of the grant include Paul Greengrass' 22 July (receiving 17.1mil NOK) and Mission Impossible Fallout (receiving 6.3mil NOK). Truenorth Norway were named as the applicants on the grant and it is said that Truenorth would handle production services in Norway for EON. 2. Bond 25 to shoot on Digital * Keeping with Scandinavian theme for today's Bond 25 news, Bond 25 cinematographer, Linus Sandgren, seems to have confirmed to ScreenDaily that Bond 25 will be shot on digital during an interview for his latest film, First Man. This would make Bond 25 the second film the franchise to be shoot entirely on digital, following Roger Deakins much-celebrated work on Skyfall. This would also mark a departure for Sandgren, who has almost exclusively shot on film for his American projects. 3. Bond in Spain? * According to a report from Archivo 007, Gregg Wilson, the son of Bond producer-Michael G. Wilson, has been spotted in Cadiz, Spain, prompting speculation that he may be there location-scouting for Bond 25 as he has been involved in scouting locations for the series since Die Another Day. Speaking of, Bond fans will remember Cadiz from Die Another Day, where it stood in for Cuba. Cadiz is also set to appear in EON's upcoming feature, The Rhythm Section, which is what may have sparked EON's interest in the location for Bond 25. 4. Will Craig be back for Bond 26? * According to an insider at The Sun, despite the rumours surrounding who will step into Bond's shoulder holster after Daniel Craig, Barbara Broccoli has not seriously considered a single name that has been floated, nor has she or her brother and co-producer, Michael G Willson, drawn up a shortlist of names for potential successors. This insider claims that Broccoli has done this out of "loyalty" to Craig, as she supposedly feels looking for a replacement while Craig is still in the job would be "disrespectful" - adding that Broccoli "cannot look beyond Daniel" as "she values everything h has done for the franchise in the past decade". Furthermore, this insider claims that EON has not even officially ruled out Craig doing a sixth film after Bond 25 - although no further information about this detail was given. It's worth noting that The Sun claims this source has dropped several other big Bond scoops in the past but declined to reveal which ones. * With McQuarrie coming back for M:I 7 and 8, potentially a two-parter, Craig's return for 26 could signal that EON intends to do a similar two-part story with 25-26, or at the very least, plans to go head to head with M:I in 2022 with their own "finale". 5. Richard Madden Rumours Never Die * Moving on to even more tenuous Bond 26 rumours, according to Express, we may be closer to Richard Madden taking on the role of 007 than previously thought. According to Lorraine Kelly, she bumped into Madden at a Nation Television Award...

Ep. 19: Lea Seydoux Returning for BOND 25, Rami Malek Playing the Next Bond Villain???

"HOLD THE PRESSES! This just in..." Episode 19 of The Words Are Not Enough is a Bond 25 Emergency News Update! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following: 1. Bond 25 has found a DP * Earlier in the week, Variety's Kristopher Tapley broke the story that Academy Award-winning Swedish DP, Linus Sandgren (best know for La La Land and First Man) will be joining Bond 25 as Director of Photography, saying "It appears Linus Sandgren is shooting the next Bond". IndieWire has now confirmed this story, citing Sandgren himself as their source. 2. Seydoux to return * The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reported that Cary Fukunaga had confirmed Lea Seydoux's return to the franchise, offering the concise comment "Lea will be returning". * Variety's Justin Kroll then corroborated Bamigboye's reporting, stating that a source had confirmed the story to Variety. * What this return could mean for 25 (continuation of Spectre's story) * What kind of role will Madeleine play in the movie (OHMSS-style death speculated among fans) - we weigh in * Confirms that Monica Bellucci probably won't be returning as rumoured (although does confirm they were looking to bring a Bond girl back for 25 - something Barbara Broccoli has been trying to do since TND) 3. Casting call for two women and a villain * Kroll also reported that "EON is looking for two other actresses - one would play an MI6 agent who works with Bond and another, a mystery woman - as well as the Bond villain." * Alleged insiders then added that "Rami Malek was being eyed for the [villain] role, but his schedule on the last season of Mr Robot, which shoots from March through July, makes it unlikely he will be able to take the gig, even if EON offered him the part". * Does this mean Blofelwill not be returning as the villain? 4. Harris, Whishaw, and Fiennes to return * In his conversation with Cary Fukunaga, Baz Bamigboye also confirmed that Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomi Harris would be returning as M, Q, and Moneypenny respectively. Cary seemed eager to work with the returning crew and the rest of the British talent likely to fill out the cast saying "You have some of the best actors in the world here, why wouldn't I have the best coming back?!" * Interesting that Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner was not included in that list of MI6 regulars returning as he has been a staple of the Craig era Vauxhall. 5. Cary Fukunaga suggested to be writing Bond 25 in addition to directing * In Justin Kroll's Variety piece, Cary Fukunaga is reported to now be writing Bond 25. In the article, Fukunaga is listed as the sole writer two times and no reference is made to any other writers. Bamigboye suggested that Purvis and Wade were on-board to write and that Fukunaga was having "major input" in the direction of the script, but this does not appear to have been based off of new information obtained during his interview with Fukunaga. It is very likely Bamigboye is basing this off of the uncited rumour that Bond 25 would be going back to using the Purvis and Wade treatment following John Hodge's departure. Fukunaga rewriting the film lines up with his earlier comments from last week about the film still being written. * Confirms earlier story that EON were looking for a writer/director for Bond 25 * If Purvis and Wade are in fact out - were EON looking for a writer/director because they were keen to rewrite/replace their original treatment 6. Norway as a Bond 25 filming location * Norwegian outlet, Bergens Tidende, has reported that a filmed dubbed "B25" has applied for a 25% subsidy of costs intensive for filming in Noway. This was then corroborated by Norwegian film commissioner Adrian Mitchell who spoke to Oslo newspaper, Dagsavisen, and said the following "I can confirm that we have been in contact with...

Ep. 18: Cary Fukunaga teases BOND 25 Plot Details, Tomorrow Never Dies vs. The World Is Not Enough

It's time to rock and ruin on Episode 18 of The Words Are Not Enough! In this episode Griffin (@griffschiller) and Brody (@brodyserravalli) discuss the following: Tomorrow Never Lies * Bond 25 Update * https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/1051651/James-Bond-25-director-Cary-Fukunaga-Casino-Royale-Daniel-Craig-Spectre * It’s only a matter of months before cameras begin rolling on Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond and as expected we are starting to get little nuggets of information along the way. * When Director Danny Boyle was originally attached to the project, it was looking more and more as if Bond 25 would be a standalone not acknowledging the events of the Craig era and focusing on a self contained narrative. * Speaking with Inquirer.net, current Bond 25 Director Cary Fukunaga spoke a bit about how he plans to continue and conclude the journey Bond began back in Casino Royale saying the following: * “In terms of what I can bring to change the character, Bond is on a character arc that started with Casino Royale, and I will be carrying that on. * “There will be changes, I am sure. As in any story, a character has to change in order [to have] a narrative.” * And that’s not ALL we got, Fukunaga even teased his progress on planning the film’s action set pieces saying * “A little bit, but not all yet." * “I am trying to get all the narrative stuff sorted out and have a good story to tell." * Fukunaga then went on to promise fans that there will definitely be elements of the 007 formula involved saying: * “Yeah, there will be the things in the Bond-verse that you have come to expect,” he promised. “I can’t say too much, though.” * The director also spoke a bit on working with Daniel Craig: * “Daniel is an incredible actor. Outside of Bond, I have been a fan for years of his work. For me, he was the best part of Road to Perdition. * “In his first Bond movie, Casino Royale, he brought an incredible amount of vulnerability and humanity to the character, which was a big shift from Pierce Brosnan’s run." * Months ago it was heavily rumored that Christophe Waltz would not be reprising his role as Blofeld in 25 and to this Fukunaga replied with: * “Who is saying those rumours? We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that. * "If there is space for [Blofeld] in the story, I would absolutely want [him] there. But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be." * As of now Bond 25 is still slated to release February 14th, 2020 * Richard Madden the next Bond? * https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/richard-madden-james-bond-interview?fbclid=IwAR2np2yuIf72_24y6VYQ-FCHmFgrB_1D_n239gsYBKKIERyYMOOeFOwdx0w * Game of Thrones alum and star of the new hit series The Bodyguard has been giving Bond bookies something to talk about recently as he’s become one of the odds on favorites to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond * Now while as of today Nov. 30th, Madden was recently overtaken by Tom Hiddleston, who’s odds are currently 5-4 compared to Madden’s 2-1, during an interview with GQ the actor addressed the Bond rumors saying the following: * “My first reaction,” says Madden, “is always the same reaction, which is the papers make up a story on a Sunday so they can discredit that story on the Monday so they can sell papers on both days.” * “...this is what happens with all these shows, like Tom Hiddleston in The Night...
