The Workout Studio

The Workout Studio started simply: making mixed playlists for my own runs and gym sessions. Music that helped me get out the door, stay moving, and push through when energy dipped. Sharing those mixes felt like a natural extension—taking something personal and putting it to work for others. Each month, I release a new mix shaped by whatever moved me during that period. Genres shift, moods change, but the structure is always intentional. Every mix is 1 hour long and follows the arc of a workout: A Warm Up to ease in and find rhythm. A Workout section built for momentum and focus. A Finisher—peak energy to get you through the end. And a Warm Down to bring things back down again. The Workout Studio isn’t about one genre or one way of training—it’s about movement, energy, and using music with purpose. If you want to find out more, follow me on Instagram @theworkoutstudio

    Episode 019

This episode is all about classic house songs and our Warm Up song is a true classic — ‘Show Me Love’ by Robin S. Few songs capture the essence of house music better. That unmistakable bassline and soaring vocal have been filling dancefloors for over 30 years and still sound just as powerful today. From there, we dive straight into the Workout, kicking things off with two pure 90s anthems — ‘Freed From Desire’ by Gala and ‘Dreamer’ by Livin’ Joy — both guaranteed to lift your mood and get the energy going. ‘Son Of A Gun’ by JX keeps that early 90s energy alive before we move into Moloko’s ‘Sing It Back’, a timeless track. The flow continues with Stardust’s ‘Music Sounds Better With You’, arguably one of the most iconic house tracks ever produced. Roger Sanchez’s ‘Another Chance’ and Armand Van Helden’s ‘U Don’t Know Me follow’ — two emotional yet driving records that perfectly blend soul and rhythm. We then up the tempo with ‘It Just Won’t Do’ by Tim Deluxe and the irresistible ‘Get Get Down’ from Paul Johnson. ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’ from Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor adds that disco sparkle before David Morales’ ‘Needin’ U’ brings a pure feel-good wave of classic house euphoria to round out the workout section. This week’s Finisher is a wild one — ‘Where’s Your Head At’ by Basement Jaxx. Explosive, unfiltered energy to push you through those final reps or sprints. Finally, we cool things down with ‘At Night’ by Shakedown for the Warm Down. A deep, hypnotic groove to ease back the pace and close out the session in style. Trying to pick one hour of classic house songs wasn’t easy and no doubt we left out some classics so let us know in the comments what songs we should include if we do another episode of classic house. Episode 018

Episode 18: We start this week’s Warm Up with a collaboration full of pedigree — Jazzy teaming up with Adriatique, Samm and KILMANJARO on ‘No Bad Vibes’. The title says it all: smooth, uplifting, and the perfect way to set the tone. We follow that with ‘House Experience’ from Earth n Days and Franco Moiraghi — a groove-driven track that nods back to classic house energy while keeping things modern. From there, we step into the Main Workout. Dario Nunez kicks things off with ‘Let The Groove’ before we flow straight into Piero Pirupa and Frank’O Moiraghi’s ‘In Da House’. MEDUZA and Goodboys’ ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ needs no introduction — a modern anthem that lifts the pace right on cue. Bauti Tesei’s ‘Shake Dat’ adds raw punch, before Riordan & Danny P’s latest release ‘Jump Higher’ does exactly what it promises. We change the mood slightly with Sonora & OFFMODE and ‘Famosa’ and then Max Styler, alongside Deomid, brings in ‘Get Down’. GREG and Pedroz go bold with ‘Spend Money’ before one of the biggest producers of recent years, Mau P, arrives with ‘Tesla’. Solardo’s ‘Outta Space’ samples the classic Prodigy song of the same title. This week’s Finisher comes from Brazil’s Vintage Culture with ‘Do You’, a track that feels tailor-made for pushing through those final reps or sprints. Finally, we ease things down with the Warm Down this episode from R3HAB and ROU’s Ten Out Of Ten. A melodic and catchy closer that brings the session full circle, leaving you with energy but also space to breathe. Episode 017

We kick off this week’s Warm-Up with the funky and modern Paco Osuna remix of Phats & Small’s ‘Turn Around’, which is now over 25 years old! We finish this episode’s Warm-Up with the POLOVICH remix of the much-sampled Eurythmics classic, ‘Sweet Dreams’, from 1983.   An unlikely end-of-summer hit starts off the main Workout in the form of Vinter’s take on ‘Space Pump (Space Jam)’. I came across ‘Rhythm With You’ from Irish artist Malley a few weeks ago and have been wanting to fit it into a mix since and I feel it slots in perfectly between Hidden Empire ‘Feel Free’ and Pagano & James Hurr ‘Ultraviolet’. One of my favourite songs from 2025 so far, CID’s ‘Pass Out’, is up next before San Pacho & Nevve ‘Go Getta’.   We up the bass a little from there, starting with Nari & Milani and ‘Mimetic’. Shiba San, ALL U NEED, Hawkeys and Kapuzen all feature in this section of the episode before our Finisher this week which comes from Tini Gessler and ‘Amplified’.   Our Warm-Down song this week is a unique blend of UK and Chicago House, coming from Lee Walker and DJ Deeon respectively. If that wasn’t enough, Italian producer Ben Kim adds a Tech House twist to this Defected release which is sure to be a big hit this autumn.   All links to listen to this week’s episode are available in the page bio.
