Where is Your Heart?

Today on The Wrap, Ryan and Levi discuss the parable of the lost son. When we read a parable, we have to make sure that we have the context of who Jesus was talking to and why He gave the parable. This parable is no different. Through this we see Jesus communicating that those who are lost are valuable to God. It is important for us to check our hearts. Are we like the lost son and far from God, or are we like the older son and following all the right ‘rules’ but for the wrong reasons? Today on The Wrap, Ryan and Levi talk about the Beatitudes. They discuss why this teaching that Jesus gave as part of the sermon on the mount was so revolutionary. Even today, the idea that we can be blessed even in the lowest of times baffles us. But our happiness and joy are rooted in Christ.

Jesus

Today, on The Wrap: Join Ryan and Levi as they jump into the New Testament and, most notably, Jesus’ entrance into our world. We talk about how Jesus came and was for ALL people. Sometimes, we struggle with our worth and value. People my put us down, we may feel like we are worthless. But Jesus came on the scene and showed us that if we will bring our lives to Him, we will be children of God. We are worth a lot to Him.

God is a God of Comfort and Peace

Today, on The Wrap, Ryan and Levi talk about Isaiah 40-66. God is not a God that discards His broken people. After correcting them, God, like a loving Father, turns to comfort His people. And if they would turn from their idols, He promises peace. We see this echoed in the Gospel. God wants to have a relationship with His people. His love will never fail and He works a plan to reconcile His people through the death of His own Son on a cross.

God is Near

Today, on The Wrap, Ryan and Levi talk about Isaiah chapter 7 and the promise of Immanuel. God promises to be with us. We talk about the fact that if you are following after God, that concept of Him being near is a comfort. However if you are not in right standing with God, this concept is quite frightening.
