I came upon this podcast somewhat randomly a few months ago. I wanted a good podcast that taught reformed (correct) theology, so I generically typed in “reformed theology.” And what do you know, this podcast was in the results. I decided to listen to an episode, and at first I thought this must have been a mega popular podcast from a mega popular church — it’s all so well done. From the research to the presentation. Each and every time. Then I did some of my own research about Parkway and found out this podcast is sourced from a modest-sized church that equips its congregation with excellent teaching every Sunday before its services. And it only has about 25 reviews?!? It goes to show the best of something doesn’t need to be the most popular and accepted. In fact, I find oftentimes that it’s the opposite. The research I did regarding this church made the podcast even more special. This collection of teaching not only has a wide array of theological topics, which are delivered in an understandable way, but it is centered around a local church body. What a great example for all churches to follow by.
I’m not from McKinney, Texas. In fact, I live nearly 2000 miles away currently! Yet here I am being nourished by this small local church body almost every day, as I can’t get enough of the teaching. I’ve also begun to listen to Parkway’s sermons starting from the beginning of the 1 Corinthian series. Both podcasts are incredible regarding the scope of both knowledge and understanding.
I do not write this to flatter any party, but I must be honest with you on how the multiple pastors and leaders at Parkway are truly edifying the body of believers in McKinney and beyond. I plan on going to seminary next fall, and part of me wants to attend a reformed seminary that is close to Parkway so that I may be a part of this richly biblical, Christ-centered, and God-glorifying church body.
