#001 - When the rug is pulled out from under you

Welcome to The Start!! In our first episode host Brandon Breitenbach interviews long time friend Zoie McClouskey. You will hear how Zoie had the rug pulled out from underneath of her right before opening her first salon and some of the lessons she learned along the way. -- About Zoie--- Hey guys! I’m Zoie Rose, self proclaimed hair nerd in San Diego. I’ve been involved in the beauty industry as long as I can remember. In 2011 I decided to make it official and I never looked back. With years behind the chair, I’ve been fortunate enough to have been the creative director of a salon, had involvement in conceptualizing and directing photo shoots and video work, to have participated in competitions and traveled all over in the process. I currently run my own one-person studio in Carlsbad, iron&rose studio. My passion for hair extends to educating beauty professionals. When I’m not behind the chair, I teach in the evenings at Bellus Academy where I’m known as the “ hair dad.” Being an ambassador for Beauty Changes Lives and a contributor for The Hair Nerds, I can safely say that I seriously eat, sleep and breath hair. Any place you look, if I’m not at school or the studio, I’m either teaching in salons independently, taking classes or weaseling my way into events.
