Technology Can't Stop Death

The Thinking Fellows talk about the limitations of scientific progress. Skepticism of previous scientific advancements in medicine and chemical engineering has paved the path for more people to question technological progress and the good it can do for humanity. Yet many skeptics still look to the future and advancing technology as a solution for death, suffering, and sin. By understanding the realities of sin and death, Christians can walk a realistic line where technology can be leveraged for the good of this life and neighbor. Still, we know it will never solve death and can always be used to accomplish evil means. This show is phenomenal. I am a Lutheran church member and I was recommended the 1517 network by my pastor about a year ago. I have been listening to their podcasts almost exclusively for the past year. I eased in with a Field Guide to the Bible, then Old Testament, then New Testament and a few others. Thinking Fellowship has been the latest one I have tried. The topics are right in line with what I’m looking for including reading material for other great sources of information. Can’t say enough good things about these guys. Keep up the great work!!

Every time anymore that I give these guys a chance, I regret it. I thought baptism would be a safe topic as others I have specifically avoided based on the title. But no, once again they had to out of nowhere dive into their misinformed maga politics that they so love. Typical Missouri Synod anymore it seems. Why can’t they put their politics aside for a simple Gospel centered podcast? Please don’t become like Issues Etc. There are many great shows on 1517 but this is not one of them. I will no longer risk listening to it.
