Let us know what you think! Can a pastor punch someone in the face and still preach on Sunday? That's just one of the questions Joe and Pastor-D tackle in this week's episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. After discussing a Louisiana pastor arrested for defending his family against violent threats and the controversy surrounding Methodist seminaries standing firm on biblical doctrine, the guys dive into this week's message: "Overcoming the Voices in My Head." Why are we so quick to believe the lies we tell ourselves? Why is forgiveness described as health, not just something that's healthy? How do we know when we're listening to God's voice instead of our fears, our desires, or the Enemy's deception? And if Satan's tactics are so predictable...why do we keep falling for them? They also wrestle with questions every Christian eventually asks: Can you forgive someone without trusting them again? When should a Church restore someone who has fallen? Is it possible to mistake relief from anxiety for the voice of God?What does the devil actually gain by leading people away from Christ?Whether you're battling anxiety, wrestling with self-doubt, trying to discern God's direction, or you're just here to find out if Pastor-D needed a 2XL because the 1XL was "too cluddered," this episode has something for you. Warning: You may come for the jokes...but you might leave rethinking which voices you've been listening to all along. That’s My Jam!

Let us know what you think! Children are like arrows in the hands of a warrior...but what happens when the warrior is afraid to let go? In this Father's Day episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor-D dive into Psalm 127 and discuss what it really means to raise children in a world that seems determined to keep them dependent. Should parents focus on raising happy kids, successful kids, or godly adults? At what point does helping become hindering? And why are so many young adults afraid to leave the nest these days? Along the way, they will tackle questions about discipline, encouragement, absent fathers, helicopter parenting, children who walk away from God, and whether modern parents have accidentally outsourced their God-given responsibilities to schools, coaches, and even the church. They also wrestle with some uncomfortable questions: Can you do everything "right" and still have a prodigal child? What's more damaging: failure or never being allowed to fail? Are parents trying too hard to be their children's friends? And what exactly happened when Pastor-D's son put "dad strength" to the test?Plus, a listener question from the kids: Does Jesus have a heavenly mother? Whether you're a parent, grandparent, future parent, or someone still trying to figure out what your parents were thinking, this episode will challenge the way you view family, faith, and the next generation. Let us know what you think! This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor-D somehow managed to connect Coldplay’s Yellow, righteousness, aliens, hope, Steven Spielberg, church attendance, emotional highs, and why humans are weirdly entertained by darkness…all in one conversation. We also tackled some heavy questions: Why do people think that church attendance equals salvation? Why does righteousness offend people? Can someone actually reflect the brightness of God without even realizing it? And what would happen if the world suddenly discovered extraterrestrial life? Along the way, Pastor-D opens up about his own struggles with hope, why God sometimes feels silent, and why true biblical hope is completely different from the “just stay positive” mindset the world keeps selling us. Also discussed: • Gigglebumps • Pastor-D's descending colon • Why God is slow to anger while we all lose our minds in traffic • Why we keep watching things we know we should turn off • And whether people can literally see righteousness in someone before they understand what they’re seeing It’s thoughtful, funny, slightly unhinged, and surprisingly encouraging. So grab your Bible, your conspiracy board, and maybe your emotional support casserole…and join us for another episode of Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D. Let us know what you think! What happens when a Sunday sermon gets interrupted by a heckler, a pastor refuses to back down, and the conversation somehow ends up discussing Satan's biggest lies, spiritual growth and using social media to attack evil? This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, Joe and Pastor D unpack one of the most unexpected moments ever to happen during a Coast Life Church service. A woman stands up, shouts her disagreement in the middle of the sermon, and unknowingly becomes the perfect illustration of the very message Pastor D was preaching. Was it just an emotional outburst, or does it reveal something much deeper about our culture's obsession with self, comfort, and avoiding hard truths? The conversation dives into why people keep reshaping Jesus into someone who never confronts sin, the difference between being bold and being obnoxious, why spiritual growth is so difficult, and whether Christians have become addicted to approval. Along the way, they tackle Satan's most effective lies, discuss how believers can be aggressive without being abrasive, and explore whether social media can be turned into a weapon for spreading the Gospel instead of spreading nonsense. If you've ever wondered why truth makes people uncomfortable—or why some people get angry when they hear it—this episode is one you won't want to miss. Let us know what you think! This week on the podcast, we dive headfirst into some of the questions most Christians quietly think about but rarely say out loud. Is God’s grace still available to Satan? At what point does compassion become compromise? And why does modern culture seem determined to make truth negotiable? We also talk about spiritual warfare, unanswered prayers, hardship, weakness, surrender, and the strange human tendency to say we trust God while simultaneously trying to micromanage the universe ourselves. Somewhere in the middle, we question whether churches are entertaining people into spiritual sleep, and discuss why little white lies may not be as little as we pretend. It’s honest, uncomfortable, funny in places, and probably guaranteed to make at least somebody mad. Which honestly means it was worth doing. Let us know what you think! This week on Thinking Out Loud with Pastor-D, we celebrate Mother’s Day by discussing one of the wildest stories in the entire Bible — a prophetess, a hesitant warrior, a woman with a tent spike, and a guy who really should’ve been more suspicious of warm milk and hospitality. Why did Deborah have to lead when Barak wouldn’t? Why are strong women often admired and criticized at the same time? Why do so many mothers feel like they’re carrying entire families on their backs while grown men stand around like decorative throw pillows? Somewhere between the jokes, the sarcasm, and Pastor-D handing out stakes to women in church “for demonstration purposes,” the conversation turns serious: Have men become spiritually passive? Why do women often sense danger before everyone else? What does motherly courage actually look like in a family? And why does God so often choose overlooked people to confront darkness? This episode is funny, uncomfortable, honest, and surprisingly personal. Also…someone probably should’ve stopped Pastor-D before he started explaining how to properly use a tent stake.
