The Thinking Reimagined Podcast®️ team of Dr. Ama and Peter Armand Boyo (Co-Producer, Director, Actor, Filmmaker & Brand Ambassador) welcomed Annelies M Gentile (Visionary, Integrative Life and Leadership Executive Coach) and Yinka Oyegoke (Co-founder, Africa Sustainable Trade) who delve into embracing life's call for presence and being in order to savour the intricacies of life. The discussion highlights the need to accept life's uncharted course which is unique to each person. In pursuing goals and plans, the key is to identify the feelings and intentions sought to maintain presence through self-awareness, accepting life's messiness and bringing playfulness to interactions in celebration of our shared humanity.     Youth Voices: Stop The Violence

    Young people are heavily impacted by Gender-based violence which, is deeply rooted in the unequal power dynamics between genders. The consequences of gender-based violence extend beyond immediate physical harm, often leading to long-lasting emotional trauma and hindering personal and inter-personal development and the ability to fully participate in the socio-economic sphere. The Thinking Reimagined Podcast®️ team of Dr. Ama, Peter Armand Boyo (Co-Producer, Director, Actor, Filmmaker & Brand Ambassador) and Nifemi Oguntoye (Co-host) welcomed Akachi Chiemela (Youth Coach), Lydian John (Actress, Author, Founder, Better You Initiative), Olvia C Madu (President, Strategic Women and Youths Institute ), Taiwo Opeoluwa (Founder, Africa Bridge Initiative) examine the root causes of violence from the youth perspective, including the lack of self-worth, psychological factors, such as, misplaced frustration and cultural norms that glorify male superiority. The panelists, frankly narrate personal anecdotes of unhealthy relationships as well as verbal and emotional abuse. They stress the importance of educating both young men and women on respect and consent. They detailed action points to mitigate violence including; male-focused programs from a young age, reporting inappropriate comments, behaviour and abuse on digital platforms. They believe Gender Based Violence (GBV) is learned behaviour which can be addressed through education and a mindset shift which, does not normalise any form of violence.

    Advocates, have long emphasised the importance of men highlighting this critical Silent Pandemic, by amplifying their voices in the fight against this pervasive issue. This special episode of Thinking Reimagined, welcomes a “Men Only” panel to discuss the prevalence of Gender Based Violence and the role of men in addressing and preventing this insidious violation of women and children. By fostering open dialogue, challenging stereotypes, embracing alliances, prioritising education and engaging in collective action, we believe we can collectively create a respectable and safe world where everyone, regardless of gender, can live free from the shadow of violence. For the occasion of our annual Men’s only roundtable, The Thinking Reimagined Podcast®️ team of Peter Armand Boyo (Co-Producer, Director, Actor, Filmmaker & Brand Ambassador) and Nifemi Oguntoye (Co-host) welcomed Lehlohonolo Peega (Multi-instrumentalist, Composer, Scholar, Teacher, Music Sociologist and Musician of Note), Edet Anthony Offiong (Dance Artiste, Model, Actor, MC/Event Host, Idea Builder, Choreographer, Poetry, Music, and Carnival Coordinator) and Stanley Onuorah (The Online Banker), delve into the heightened level Gender Based Violence from the different forms of violence, to the underlying factors such as poverty, cultural norms, gender inequality, climate change, education and power dynamics in relationships and the society at large. There is necessary emphasis on the need for education, awareness, policy changes, accountability, addressing harmful notions of masculinity and changing the mindset. Panelists also shared personal stories and nuggets whilst raising concerns about the underreporting of violence particularly against men and boys.

This episode begins with a cancer survivor story which, leads to dialogue on cancer awareness, the importance of early detection and screening, breaking down stigma and increasing accessibility of cancer care, particularly for rural populations. Guests also discussed the need, to recognise the value of teachers in schools and the importance of having quality teachers, with the right qualifications, passion and support. Of course, the multi-stakeholder approach which includes parents, communities, government, communities and NGOs essential to uplifting the quality of education and the teaching profession was amplified during the dialogue.
