    Trifling, TikTok, & Travis | Current Events w/ Cori

    !!! Throughout the episode there are small laughs that I make. That is because it is my reaction/defense when I misread or come across something intense. It always has been.     Finding a Signature Scent on a Budget | $29-49 Price Range

    Today I discussed my history with perfumes, candles I recommend from B&BWs, D.S & Durga, and well-known inspiration perfume line Dossier. Heads up, the banging noises are not from my mic, they're from me putting stuff on the table that the mic is attached to and the mic mount shaking causing it to give feedback. My apologies I shall try and remember not to do this in the future.

    Being 20.

    Short essay by me. Being 20 is so lonely. It's a constant state of "what's going on," and being overwhelmed with stress and sadness. At least for me. For some reason I thought with time my life would get easier and I'd "grow into myself" and find my group of friends and finally have someone. Thus far, that's not the case. I just feel even more isolated and it's harder to make friends now because there isn't a place I'm at consistently where we'd have to interact. Online school has just made this even worse. My relationships with friends fell out because I was staying home while they continued to go out and do things. I got a bit left behind and now it's hard to catch up. I often ask myself, do I even want to catch up? What's the point? Looking back through my friendships, they've never been mutually fulfilling long term. Someone always cares more than the other, and that someone is always me. I just feel like maybe I don't have a place here. Maybe there aren't any friends for me. Maybe I need to accept that and start building my life solely around me and stop looking for companionship. There are a lot of maybes, and not many, if any answers. I guess that's what your 20s are.

    Kindergarten Socialists

    Short essay by me. Public schools teach socialism then slowly transition us to capitalism as we get older. In kindergarten, we were taught that if you don't have enough for everyone you can't eat. We're taught everyone gets something. That everyone gets the same amount. Sharing is caring. How does all that change in the span of 12 years? The alphabet didn't change. How to count didn't change, so why did how to care for each other change? In high school, it's impressed upon us kids that it's normal to see other people have less than you or even nothing. At lunch, kids who had no money in their account got the sandwich and that's it. Or sometimes they'd get completely turned away. At that point it doesn't matter that they're a kid and who's a part of the class, a part of the school, a kid who's hungry. Money is the motivator. In kindergarten, kids who didn't bring snacks to share still got to eat everyone else's snacks. That didn't last long. I struggle to understand why they taught us to share when we live in a country that is so opposed to sharing. Why did they say everyone gets some, if not everyone gets something? It just seems like a pointless lesson. Could it be because they felt bad corrupting kids from a young age? I don't know. All I know is that lesson did not hold true in the way that 2+2 did.
