Rachel Winslow revisits Anne of the Island

Rachel Winslow revisits Anne of the Island

Anne of Green Gables is headed off to higher education in the third book of the series Anne of the Island. Dr. Rachel Rains Winslow quickly identified with articulate ardent Anne, as well as L.M. Montgomery's powerful prose. In this conversation, Rachel and I talk about Anne's community, her famous, but cleverly written relationship with Gilbert Blythe, and how this third book inspired her own views on education, community, and maturation.

So proud to see fellow alumni putting out good work!!!

Misamiera ,

insightful, thoughtful conversations

As someone who probably grew out of “children’s” books too fast, I appreciate the care and thought that these discussions take to revisit childhood favorites. The host asks excellent questions that open up each episode into a real conversation - it’s not just an interview. There’s a bit of nostalgia, a lot of reflection, and a lot of fondness and delight - perfect for making me want to dive into an old book I read a long time ago. Looking forward to the next episodes! :)
