Many of us stay clear of having tough discussions if they don't directly involve or effect us. We can become naive or ignorant to others' experiences and struggles in everything from relationships to racial tensions. We hope to enlighten our listeners by having deep conversations about things we all might be thinking but are too afraid to say out loud. Life lessons are best taught through human experiences and what we learn from those times help shape and mold our character & mindset. Technically if you think about it many circumstances could happen to any one of us.
