Helping the helpers w/ Christi Myers, Ketamine Practitioner

Helping the helpers w/ Christi Myers, Ketamine Practitioner

This conversation has been a long-time coming. And we’re excited to push this out to the airwaves. Kari and Tory bring on Christi Myers, the Founder and CEO of Flow Integrative, a ketamine psychotherapy practice that helps clients deal with mood disorders and substance abuse. Launched in 2020, Flow Integrative is currently a pilot clinic for the first psychedelic insurance company.
Now before you think this episode isn’t for you, please give it ten minutes. We promise if you start this episode, you will have to finish it. Christi addresses the uncomfortableness with the word psychedelic. She explains why humans are drugs and how we can do drugs better from a practitioner’s perspective.
Christi talks about her passion for helping the help and offers something that you will contemplate for the rest of your life. Also, have you ever met your nervous system? This episode is a great starting point. Connect with Christi on Instagram.
In this episode, Kari and Tory explore:
What ketamine is and who it’s suitable for. How ketamine is being used to treat severe depression, PTSD, and even suicidal thoughts. The difference between psychotherapy and ketamine therapy. How the legalization of more psychedelics will make better treatment options available for conditions such as depression, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and \ fibromyalgia. How ketamine allows you to shift perspective by disengaging from the limbic brain (the part of the brain involved in our behavioral and emotional responses). Why she believes ketamine is one of the greatest gifts to humans. Favorite testimonials/stories of transformation. Kari and Tory also want to hear from you! 51: We Can Do Hard Things - Juliane Koepcke's Story

51: We Can Do Hard Things - Juliane Koepcke's Story

Tory and Kari bring back another round of miraculous stories! This is a life and death story set deep in the Amazon. It’s all about being a badass, remembering what your dad taught you, and channeling a bit of Dora the Explorer.
Tory shares the story of Juliane Koepcke and how she survived a plane crash deep in the Amazon rainforest. It involves scorching heat, ten days without food, and having to move around the jungle by tossing your shoe. But, this is a harrowing story of how she was the lone survivor in this plane crash - even though initially 14 others survived the crash.
It’s a story of being mistaken for a water goddess. The power of the middle seat. And how even at 17, women encapsulate badassery.
Tory and Kari also open the show with a time and space update. And Tory shares a funny story of a very bad gig during her time in New York City.

    Sacred Sons with Adam Jackson

    Sacred Sons with Adam Jackson

Kari and Tory are psyched to introduce today’s guest - Adam Jackson. Adam is a dear friend, an incredible dad, a community leader, and a creative force. To thousands of men worldwide, he’s a founding partner and the director of operations and voice of Sacred Sons, an organization dedicated to Masculine Alchemy and Embodiment.
Sacred Sons utilizes the power of ceremony, ritual, and intentional spaces to deepen into authentic brotherhood and catalyze growth. Tory’s partner Jetter has experienced Sacred Sons firsthand.
In this episode, Kari and Tory explore:
What is a Sacred Son?  What’s healthy masculinity? Where are we getting it wrong?  What do we have to gain in this world by realigning our masculine and feminine energies? How can women support their men in returning to healthy masculinity and embodiment? What would you say to a man or woman who’s in partnership with a man - who is unwilling to do personal work? If you are raising a boy, in partnership with a man, or have men in your life you care about, this episode will provide practical advice. While Sacred Sons are focused on men, it’s really about accountability. Authenticity. You are using relationships to be our greatest teacher. This episode can serve as the pattern interrupt to point you in the direction you know is best. It’s time to get out of your head, stop intellectualizing, and move through this world powerfully.

Presence & Pivots with Alan Watts and Lao Tzu

Presence & Pivots with Alan Watts and Lao Tzu

Tory and Kari could say f*** it today. Or they could show up, hit record, and hope something shifts. And in this episode, something shifts. After all, crying is growing.
They bring back a favorite idea, and each shares two quotes that hold significance for them right now. Tory shares a quote from Lao Tzu:
“If you do not change direction, you might end up where you are heading.”
And Kari brings a quote from Alan Watts:
“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.”
Tory shares why she no longer lets everything slide into a sinkhole and why facing the seemingly small, uncomfortable things are harder than starting fresh and new. And Kari shares why she has changed from sitting in the moment of now to the moment of anticipation. Then she highlights why she believes in all gain, no pain, and why life should be the right kind of hard.
Kari and Tory also want to hear about your manifestation magic. So email your stories of manifestation at hello@thisfeelsimportant.com. And join the This Feels Important text community at 1-619-566-7722.

    Tell me something good!

    Tell me something good!

Tory and Kari bring back another round of miraculous stories! They don’t want to hold back from sharing the positive stories and are ready to let it rip.
Kari starts with a story of a stolen harp and how a dowser helped find it. Don’t know what a dowser is? You will.
Then Kari and Tory dive into the personal. Tory updates us as she counts down to her child entering the world, and Kari provides her tips for how she’s staying solid despite the craziness around her. They also share how alignment can be simple, the easiest way to let go of negative momentum, and why you should let your anger be anger (it’s okay).
And please share your miraculous stories with them! It doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect or you feel like it’s braggy. Celebrate yourself. Let it rip in your own life. Send your story to hello@thisfeelsimportant.com. And join the This Feels Important text community at 1-619-566-7722.

    David Ditchfield’s Near-Death Experience

    David Ditchfield’s Near-Death Experience

Tory and Kari have been mulling new ideas to bring you beautiful stories of the wild and crazy, almost unimaginable miracles together for a podcast series. All with the intention to get you inspired and move. Thanks to Tory’s podcast proclivity, they’ve landed on the way to giving this new thing a try. So it’s time for storytime!
Tory loves the journalistic storytelling approach of many podcasts, yet so few tell a positive story. This Feels Important will change that! It doesn’t take a true crime story to feel giddy and be on the edge of your seat. It can even be done with miraculous stories. Call it the uplifting shock factor.
So Kari and Tory invite you to expand your belief beyond what you know to be true so that you can create a life more magical than it is right now. Tory has distilled David’s remarkable story into an edge-of-your-seat experience that she will regale for Kari.
They hope to do more of these episodes, so tell them how it lands for you in their new text community! Send Kari and Tory a hi, emoji, literally anything to 1-619-566-7722. And stay through the end of the episode to learn how you can submit your own story when life proved bigger than you previously imagined.

Amazing emotionally intelligent podcast

My favorite genre of podcasts is that covering emotional intelligence topics & diving deep into discussion on an array of topics that pop up in life. This podcast has become my favorite one to look forward to, filling a void I’ve felt since Cheryl Strayed & Steve Almond discontinued Dear Sugars. I love what Tory & Kari are doing in this space and I can’t wait to hear more from them!

Conversations that make you self reflect

I love Tory and Kari! I love their perspectives and hear what tools they use as they navigate their life journey. It feels like I am sitting down with a couple of girlfriends who offer a supporting and loving environment for growth. I always leave the podcast episodes with something to take away and reflect on. Love you ladies!
