    38. How to understand and harness sleep to support women's health and communities with Dr Jill McGarry, founder of Sleep Better Doctor

    Dr Jill McGarry is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who specialises in supporting people improve their sleep. Dr Jill runs a private practice called Sleep Better Doctor and has worked with several teams on sleep projects including Manchester’s Sleep Service for MFT NHS Trust; perinatal mums with sleep problems at South Lancs NHS; Autistic & Learning Disabled people at Salford LD team, Seashell Trust and NHS England. In addition she’s presented nationally to professionals and carers at several conferences as well for specific groups (e.g. Derbyshire Carers and Lifestyle Lean) . She has attended the Oxford University Masterclass in sleep interventions and weekly joins the international sleep seminars from Arizona University’s behavioural sleep medicine team. Her sleep clinic runs face to face and virtual, and her clients have come from across the world because she helps people with a range of sleep issues, including insomnia, nightmares and sleep apnea. Lauren saw firsthand how dispiriting the medical process can be when her mother went through a battle with cancer. Always looking to be a part of the solution, Lauren was inspired to search for ways for patients to feel comfortable during procedures that are awkward and associated with physical exposure and emotional vulnerability. Her primary goal in co-founding HeartSnug is to help patients feel protected and covered – literally!
