This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by one of our supporters, a 65-year-old woman who works as a psychologist:

"I arrive at my old friend Sue's family home. I walk up the drive with Sue's grand nieces and nephew, and I know that there has been a break-in. I'm not afraid and think that at worst we will encounter children pilfering.

When I get there, there's no sign of a burglary. The front of the house is now a big glass door stretching the width of the house. I go inside and see three very tall men dressed in black leather. They have a very dark, very sexual energy. I try to pull one towards me by his hood, but suddenly I realize he's threatening me with a syringe. Then they all produce syringes. I let them go. I'm very afraid.

Later, my daughter is producing a very complicated dessert. I know she's oblivious to the need for the dessert to be ready in a timely way, and she's just involved in the process of making it."

Can we protect ourselves and others from powerful projections that confuse reality and make us vulnerable in ways we cannot imagine?
In honest and open discussion, we meet with director Nick August-Perna, whose controversial documentary, "Tell Them You Love Me," has set off a firestorm. Rutgers professor Anna Stubblefield claimed to unlock Derrick Johnson through facilitated communication. Debate erupted about whether Johnson, a nonverbal Black man with cerebral palsy, could give consent. Was this true love, or an abuse of power? Race, informed consent, the personal autonomy of people with intellectual disabilities, and overwhelming archetypal dynamics must be grasped to understand the complex forces at work in their relationship, and the reactions others felt when it was discovered.
Prepare to discover what disrupts the balance between love and power; how personal biases and psychological projections shape our interactions and ethical decisions; which societal attitudes towards race, disability, and consent need critical examination and reform; whether facilitated communication can authentically reflect the thoughts of nonverbal individuals or merely the facilitator’s fantasies; why we need multiple voices, divergent feelings, and cultural tensions to surface without simple resolutions to expand consciousness.

This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by one of our supporters, a 52-year-old woman who is a caretaker for her adult son with Down Syndrome:

"I was in a large room where everything was made of wood. It looked and felt like an elementary school classroom in the 70s. There was a small stage and there were transparent purple drapes. The room felt warm and welcoming. There was a group of actors and they were rehearsing a play based on a book that I had already read. I don't remember what the story was about, but it had a lot of surreal elements in it. I did not feel a connection with the play and the people. I just sat there and watched.

Suddenly, at the end of the play, I said, "There is one thing that needs to be done in this story." I stood up and a white spiral staircase made of stone appeared on the small stage. There was a camel on the staircase. It looked at me with a funny face and I knew I had to get on it. I felt a bit worried. How could a large animal like this, with me on its back, climb this steep staircase safely? But we did it anyway.

I felt the large body of the animal moving, and I heard his hooves touch the steps. The movements of the camel were grotesque and my body moved in all directions. I felt the enormous physical power of the animal and when I looked down, I saw that I was sitting on a brown horse. My concern disappeared and I felt confidence and joy. We galloped up the stairs and when we reached the top, I shouted, "Yes!" And then we went down again and returned to the classroom. I had a feeling that I had brought back something valuable."

Where are our lost talents and disowned powers hiding?
