Punknews.org presents This Might Be A Podcast, a song by song podcast about They Might Be Giants, hosted by Greg Simpson.
This Might Be A Podcast - Episode 108.5 - Ukuleles and TMBG
When I started the show, I noticed the amount of ukulele covers of TMBG songs that were popping up. I wanted to find out why there is such a big overlap in TMBG fandom and ukulele players so I rounded up there uke experts, Mary-Anne McTrowe, Derrick Schertz and Todd Breadon to tell us about their favorite TMBG songs to cover and why they work so well. They even rock a few of them for us!
This Might Be A Podcast - Episode 108 - When Will You Die
Greg's bandmates in Dopplepopolis, Tim Brouk and Jonny Sommer, come on to talk about When Will You Die off of Join Us. Dopplepopolis has covered this song so we talk about how difficult the song was to learn, how hilarious the lyrics are, and how, like Stomp Box, this is one of TMBG's most punk songs.
This Might Be A Podcast - Episode 107 - Stomp Box
Comedian and episode 1 guest David Britton finally makes his triumphant return to the show to talk about Stomp Box off of John Henry. They talk about comedy, the touring life, and how punk this song is and if it's unfairly treated.
This Might Be A Podcast - Episode 106 - Let's Get This Over With
Direct from Poland, Maciej Taubert returns to the show to talk about Let's Get This Over With off of I Like Fun. He and Greg talk extensively about bass drums, the 90s band Semisonic, and thing we'd like to get over with. Greg also attempts a cover live on air.

Far from Reprehensible
Really enjoy Greg’s style. He spends time talking about the band with an ever changing list of colorful and varied co-hosts. His style highlights his love of the music and real appreciation for the people he talks with. It’s irreverent, but the tangents highlight his love and appreciation for the people that guest on the show. Regarding the comments other reviews have made on cover songs... I personally love that he looks for opportunities to feature other fans’ covers. He has opinions, but they seem far from harsh. He seems pretty inclusive to me. Sensitive much people?!?
Speaking as a long time TMBG fan that has been a fan in isolation (I can’t seem to find anyone else around where I live that are fans), it’s nice to have this conduit to share my love of the band. The podcast has made me think on and appreciate songs I haven’t given enough time to study. What more can a fan ask for? And jeez, there are other podcasts out there about this band too!!! It is truly a great time to love TMBG!!!
