Episode 87: A Woman’s Guide To Cannabis (feat. Dr. Michelle Sexton)

Episode 87: A Woman’s Guide To Cannabis (feat. Dr. Michelle Sexton)

For any of you who have been listening to this show for some time know by this point, I am a big fan of Cannabis & it’s abilities, when used consciously & responsibly, to act as a tool for self development. From self development we can gain self awareness & from self awareness, we can gain self realization & for me, self realization is the ultimate goal of my life. This being said, I get a lot of questions about cannabis and women's health. So this week, I’m bringing you straight to the source and found the expert who’s been studying cannabis and women’s health for over a decade. She has 18 years of knowledge of the pharmacology and health effects of cannabis on a woman's body throughout all stages of life.  I'm happy to report she also has deep dive educational course to share called "The Green Woman's Guide” to help with any women in your life who are canna curious. You'll find a link to the course and a 25% discount code in the show notes when you use the code “Highlyoptimized” & my hope is that any women listening to this episode who are looking for a woman specific approach to Cannabis are able to do so & feel confident in their choice to connect with the plant.

Episode 84: The Adventures Of A Psychonaut (feat. Kyle Kingsbury)

Episode 84: The Adventures Of A Psychonaut (feat. Kyle Kingsbury)

One thing I mention often on this show that I feel bears repeating is the idea that our lives themselves are a psychedelic experience. For any of you listening to this show right now, I want you to take a trip down memory lane with me as we take a second to think about the many paths we’ve walked down, the paths we’ve taken a detour from at a certain point & the path or paths we feel we’re walking down currently in our lives & begin to see how each of them, no matter how independent of one another they may seem, have led us to this moment in time right now. It is by tuning into this type of awareness that we can see the psychedelic nature that our lives truly are & in doing so, be captivated by the memory of who we were yesterday & the mystery of who we will be tomorrow. Todays guest on the show is a man who, similar to what I stated above, has walked down many different paths in his life that have all allowed him to be who he is today. He is a retired football player for Arizona state, a retired UFC fighter where he fought professionally for 6 years, the former director of human optimization of Onnit & is now a coach for “Fit For Service”, which is a tribe focused on practicing vulnerability & serving yourself through service to others, is the host of the Kyle Kingsbury podcast, which is a show centered around bringing leading minds & voices together to speak to how to achieve peak performance in every day life, is a facilitator of sacred hunting experiences through the “Sacred Hunting” organization, & is using his voice to speak to the importance & potency behind subjects such as nutrition, performance, recovery, longevity, plant medicines & inner peace, amongst many others. In this episode, we will be diving into his experiences with plant medicines, what they have revealed to him, what his views are on the psychedelic nature of every day life, the wisdom he has for those of you out there looking to engage in this world & whatever else the divine wills into action during this epic dialogue we are about to embark upon.

Episode 83: How Psychedelics Can Help Save The World (feat. Stephen Gray)

Episode 83: How Psychedelics Can Help Save The World (feat. Stephen Gray)

For many of us who are curious observers of the world around us, I imagine it has been easy to tell that our world is going through a shakening up of sorts as of late. Whether it’s with mental health, climate change, politics, war, or simply a general underlying feeling of tension & angst, it is clear to see something is shifting, yet in order to have this shift be able to make us into a new, more balanced & harmonious society, rather than break us down into more of the same, outdated way of living, we must venture into the unknown. It is in the unknown that we can truly discover what we are missing &, in my opinion, one of the most effective ways to enter the unknown is within psychedelic medicine. Stopping back by the show today to share all about his upcoming book, “How Psychedelics Can Help Save The World” todays guest & I will be going over some of the reasons why he believes psychedelics could be one of the avenues that could help usher in this more connected, harmonious future that we all know is possible deep down in our hearts. In addition, we will also be going over the necessary frameworks & guidelines from which psychedelic medicines could have the biggest impact on allowing us to reach this brighter future & much, much more from his new book.

Episode 82: Leading The Charge In Psychedelic Education (feat. Paul Austin)

Episode 82: Leading The Charge In Psychedelic Education (feat. Paul Austin)

One thing I imagine we can all agree on when it comes to the realm of psychedelics & plant medicines is that it is up to each one of us to BE the change, so to speak, within this realm. For a subject that has been controversial for so long & has the ability to offer so much support in the human experience when done in the proper context or do so much damage when done without proper awareness of the potency associated with these medicines, it is by each of us showing the world what conscious, responsible consumption of these medicines looks like that we can begin to shift the narrative more & more. Todays guest on the show is a man who has made it his life’s work to be at the forefront of the change that is so desperately needed within the long held mainstream narrative surrounding these sacred allies. He is the founder of not one, but two psychedelic focused companies, including Synthesis, which is focused on allowing individuals to have direct experiences with medicines such as psilocybin truffles in safe containers to gain insight on their experience of life & Third Wave, which is focused on building an educational platform to ensure psychedelic substances become responsibly integrated into our cultural framework. Currently, Third Wave offers long-form psychedelic guides, online microdosing programs, an industry-best network of clinics and retreat providers & an incredible podcast to allow individuals to continue learning & gaining awareness around this space & in todays episode, we will be diving into his experiences with these medicines, what led him to getting into the business side of psychedelic medicines, what his vision is for the future of conscious, responsible psychedelic use & much, much more.

    About Paul
Paul F. Austin is an entrepreneur, public speaker, and educator. He has founded two companies in the emerging psychedelic space, Third Wave and Synthesis.

Within Third Wave, Paul leads his team in building an educational platform to ensure psychedelic substances become responsibly integrated into our cultural framework.

Currently, Third Wave offers long-form psychedelic guides, online microdosing programs, and an industry-best network of clinics and retreat providers.

In 2018, Paul co-founded Synthesis, and led several high-dose psilocybin truffle retreats over the span of one year. When not leading retreats, Paul headed up branding, marketing, and public relations for Synthesis before stepping back to focus on Third Wave full-time.

Because of his pioneering work at the intersection of psychedelic use, personal transformation, and professional success, Paul has been featured in the BBC, Forbes, and Rolling Stone.

Paul sees psychedelic use as a skill, one that becomes more refined as we explore the many nuances of these awe-inspiring medicines and molecules.

Learning how to hone this skill will be crucial in the story of humanity’s present-future evolution.
